🥋 Every Black Belt Was Once a Beginner…
Every confident student you see today once walked through the door unsure, nervous, and not knowing what to expect.
They didn’t become stronger overnight.
They didn’t build confidence in one lesson.
They didn’t earn their belts because it was easy.
They achieved it because they kept turning up.
They listened. They practised. They made mistakes. They learned.
Most importantly… they refused to give up.
At Universal Taekwon-Do, we teach more than kicks and punches. We help students build confidence, focus, discipline, resilience, and a positive mindset that carries into everyday life.
Whether your child is nervous, shy, full of energy, or simply ready for a new challenge — every journey starts with one first step.
🥋 Black belts aren’t born. They’re built.

In Taekwon-Do, progress is never accidental.
Every kick, every pattern, every grading, every small improvement comes from showing up, listening, learning, and putting in the work — even on the days when it feels difficult.
Discipline is what turns effort into progress. It teaches students that confidence is earned, skill is built, and success comes from consistent action over time.
At Universal Taekwon-Do, we don’t just teach kicks and punches.
We help students develop focus, resilience, self-belief, and the mindset to keep going until they achieve their goals.
Because in Taekwon-Do — and in life — hard work pays off.

It is with a heavy heart that we learn of the passing of one of our dear Black Belt members, Mrs. Christothea Constandinou-williams, II Degree who passed away recently after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her treatment, Christothea personified the Tenets of Taekwon-Do, showing true bravery and indomitable spirit. Our thought are with her family and friends at this sad and difficult time. Particularly her Husband Darren, and her Son Taliiesin. Christothea was a beautiful soul, and a much loved member of our school. She will be greatly missed by all of us. RIP.

Happy Birthday to the Name Taekwon-Do!
On 11 April 1955, General Choi Hong Hi officially chose the name for his newly created martial art: Taekwon-Do.
Today, we celebrate more than just the birth of a name we celebrate the beginning of a global movement that has inspired millions of people across the world.
Let us honour the legacy of General Choi Hong Hi by always giving our very best in training, teaching, and living by the principles of Taekwon-Do each and every day.
