12 months ago, our Warrington Wolves Academy team won their Grand Final captained by Ewan Irwin.

Ewan won the Pauline Nelson Memorial Trophy for the 2025 Academy player of the year and the Bob Brough Memorial Trophy for the Academy 2025 Players' Player of the year.

A few weeks later the Academy squad set off on a 3 week tour to Australia playing against Penrith Panthers , a NSW Blues select team and Gold Coast Titans. The tour group had an amazing experience and really caught the eye. Andrew Johns came to a training session to share his wisdom with the young players.

Into the 2026 season and #18 Ewan has developed into an established half back in the first team.
Last week Ewan was nominated for the Super League Young player of the year in recognition of an outstanding 2026 season.

Tomorrow Ewan Irwin plays in the Grand Final at Old Trafford.
What a whirlwind 12 months it has been. 👍😃

Congratulations to our Head of Youth Ryan O'Brien and his Pathway staff and volunteers for your amazing work developing our Homegrown players.

Thank you Sam Burgess for putting your faith in our Pathway players and letting them thrive on the biggest stage.

Everyone at Warrington Wolves Supporters Trust & Squadbuilder sends best wishes to Ewan and all our lads in the Grand Final.

As our captain George Williams says. BELIEVE.

Another impressive Heritage event. Well done to Angie Gaunt for making the room look magnificent. The washing line of match worn shirts was inspired.
Paul Cullen has so many amazing stories.
