This week is Carers Week (9β15 June), and we wanted to say something. π
So many of the people who come to Cycall come with someone alongside them. A parent. A partner. A sibling. An adult child. A friend who picks them up, gets them ready, advocates for them, and stays with them through every ride.
These are carers β most of them unpaid, many of them family, all of them quietly making it possible for someone they love to take part in something joyful.
At a Cycall session, carers aren't bystanders. They're often on the other side of a side-by-side bike, pedalling alongside. They're the ones who said "let's try this." They're the reason a first ride happens at all.
So this week: to every carer who has ever made a Cycall ride possible β we see you, and we thank you. π»
Caring is a kind of love that doesn't always get acknowledged. This week, it should be.

Meet Andy (Me). π
I'm the person behind Cycall's social media β the one writing the posts, sharing the stories, and helping more families find us online.
You might have noticed our Facebook and Instagram have been a little livelier lately. That's my doing. I officially joined the team as our Social Media Content Creator, helping tell the story of what Cycall does and why it matters. I am happy to be involved in such a good cause and look forward to seeing and sharing more stories fro you all.
If one of our posts ever makes you smile, share it β that's exactly the kind of thing that helps a small charity like ours reach the people who need us. And if you've got a Cycall story you'd love to see told, drop us a message.
I would be happy to share it. ππ²

Ever wondered where the magic happens? π³
Cycall calls Brooklands Park in Worthing home β and it's the perfect spot for what we do.
Wide, flat, lakeside paths to ride. Plenty of green, open space. A welcoming, accessible site with parking close by. And that lovely feeling of being out in nature, away from traffic, with room to breathe.
It's the kind of place where a first wobbly ride can turn into a lap of pure joy. Where families spread out picnic blankets while riders take to the track. Where everyone β whatever their body β can simply enjoy being outdoors.
We can't wait to welcome you back there for the 2026 season. ππ²

"Cycling isn't for people like me." π²
It's one of the most common things we hear β and one of the biggest myths we love to bust.
The truth? If you can move, there's almost certainly a bike for you.
π² Hand-cycles β powered by your arms, not your legs
π² Wheelchair trikes β ride without leaving your chair
π² Side-by-side bikes β ride with a partner or carer alongside
π² Trikes β extra stability for those who need it
At Cycall, we start from a simple question: not "can you ride a standard bike?" but "what do you need to ride?" Then we find the bike that fits.
Cycling really is for everyone. Even β especially β people who've been told it isn't.

A bike wheel doesn't roll without its spokes. π² Cycall doesn't either.
Every session at Brooklands Park is held together by:
π’ Our riders β who show up and prove what's possible
π’ Their families β who cheer and ride alongside
π’ Our volunteers β who set up, pack down, bring the warmth
π’ Our trustees β who quietly steer the ship
π’ Our supporters β who donate, share, and keep us going
You're all spokes. Every one of you matters.
Thank you. π

It's not just about the bikes. π
It's about the parents who finally get to cycle alongside their child.
The siblings who don't have to be split up.
The grandparents who thought their riding days were over.
The friends who'd never sat on a bike together before.
The bikes are the tools. The riding is the reason.
We can't wait to bring it all back for 2026. π²

A quick thank you. π
To everyone who applied for our Session Manager role β thank you for taking the time. We appreciated every application, and we're grateful you cared enough to put yourself forward.
We'll be announcing the new manager very soon. π
In the meantime, please stay close. As we work toward reopening for the 2026 season, there'll be more ways to get involved β volunteer roles, trustee opportunities, and plenty of moments where a hand or a heart will make a difference.
Thank you. π»
