The U12 coaches were given a treat yesterday as they received their new t-shirts and jackets with our loyal sponsor Honey's Bakery.

I'm sure you will agree they look great and there may be a future in fashion photo shoots for our coaches too 🤪😂

Honey's Bakery is located next to the river and the railway station in Caergwrle and offers a lovely array of food and treats within a beautiful location too.

Last night our U12's hosted Acton FC in their last mid week game for a while.

Acton started brightly and seemed well organised as our boys were slow out of the blocks and found themselves 4-0 in a very short space of time.

As we started to get back into the game we showed some great passing and this resulted in Arthur scoring a curling effort from the edge of the box to start our comeback.

Hope put Acton on the back foot for the next 20 mins before Acton managed to get a fifth. The boys however, continued to push forward and looked the better team up until half time.

The second half was a much improved effort from the first, but unfortunately we could never really get out of our half as the ball continued to be pinged back in from their defence and we had to swallow a 12-1 loss in the end.

POTM went to Arthur who's goal was great to watch, but also tried really hard to get a grip on the game as captain and push his team mates forward.

A weekend off, but back for Tuesday where a lot of work is still needed to get the boys ready for the next game.

A good training session down at Abermorddu tonight as the boys had an easier night before their home game against Acton FC tomorrow.

At the end of the session, the boys were given some bags from Angela Crumplin (castlecraft) and they were extremely grateful. Thank you so much Angela! 👏🏻

The coaches also received some updated tops, courtesy of Honey's Bakery ... Pictures will follow 😎

Have a lovely rest of the week, but if you can come down to Abermorddu tomorrow and support our boys then it would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure they will put on a good game too 🐉⚽

Big smiles all round today for our brand new U7s — what a brilliant little team 🥰 The togetherness, effort, determination and team spirit were there from start to finish, and it’s been amazing seeing our new players slot straight in and our new families feel part of it all already.

We’re only just getting established, and this is exactly how we want to start: supporting each other, learning together, and enjoying every minute.

Massive well done to our two Players of the Match — big smiles 😀 all round, which is what it’s all about.

A great evening of football on show in Corwen this evening as our U12's travelled to one of our further games of the season.

A tale of two halves which saw both teams have multiple shots, some cracking tackles and some good old scrappy football on offer for the fans!

From a Dragons perspective a very slow and poor first half where we just couldn't click and show our true potential as we went in 2-0 down.

A very stern team talk from the coaches at half time seemed to get the boys up for the second half and from the moment the whistle went, we played with a higher intensity and a lot more spirit.

The boys kept battling and 10 minutes into the second half Luka sent a bullet straight into the top corner to bring us back to 2-1. With the boys rejuvenated they continued to push forward looking for the equaliser.

Corwen managed to restore their two goal lead before Taxi matched Luka and sent his powerful effort into the same part of the net!

Unfortunately as our Dragons continued to push forward, gaps started to appear at the back and Corwen punished us to end the game 6-2.

Coach Phil said "A bit of a slow start from the lads this evening but once they got out in the second half it was like watching the boys do what we know they can do. A couple of cracking goals to watch and some tasty tackles the boys can be proud of".

It was a tough call for POTM this evening with Luka and Jacob J putting in really good performances but it eventually went to Taxi for his overall performance across the pitch. Well done 👏🏻

A weekend off for our U12's as the next round of the NEWFA cup takes place, but training back on Tuesday and another evening game at home against Acton.

Well...That is what we were waiting for 🥵

A trip to the other side of Wrexham for our U12's as we visited Ruabon Rovers.

After an early set back where we conceded a penalty and went 1-0 down our boys never gave up and kept their concentration. This showed for the remainder of the game as they took total control and played some brilliant football, like we all know they can.

Stan got us back level shortly after before Elis and Jac added their first of the season. Stan got his second of the game before Captain Arthur bagged his first two goals, going into half time 1-6.

The second half didn't slow down either as Jacob E and Taxi added to the scoring before Stan completed his well deserved hat-trick 🥳. Alfie and Taxi then rounded up the game with their first and second respectively.

Coach Ali said "I said to the lads this morning before kick off that our season starts today, forget the previous two games and go and win today and they didn’t let us down. There were plenty of standout performances today across the team with the goalkeeping and defence being solid, the midfield working tirelessly up and down the field and the strikers stretching the play every time closing down and putting the pressure on the opposition defences."

POTM went to Stan for his outstanding attacking wing play where he created chances and goals for others whilst bagging a hat trick for himself! Well Done 👏🏻👏🏻

We all look forward to seeing you on Tuesday as we get back to training for our next game, which comes quick again, as we face an evening trip to Corwen on Wednesday.

Please can parents make sure their player has replied with their availability. Have a great rest of your weekend, it is well deserved after today!
