Meet the Team at Pike Hills Golf Club!
Alistair Burns has been at Pike Hills for 18 years. For the first 6 years he was in the Pro Shop before moving to his current role as General Manager of the Club.
We asked Alistair about this role and he said " I am the "public face" of the club responsible for the efficient performance of all departments of Pike HIlls Golf Club, not just golf. I work alongside loyal staff and our valued volunteers and the position is both challenging and rewarding.
3 fun facts about Alistair:
1) Prior to becoming a PGA qualified professional golfer he almost became a professional footballer for Sheffield United!
2) For 4 years he lived and worked in Munster, Germany working in the golf industry. By coincidence Munster is the German twin city of York!
3) During his golfing career, he has had 5 holes in one, including one on a par 4 where he holed out with a driver!
