A huge congratulations to all the children who took part in the community games this year. Whether you ran at your local area finals, county finals, regionals or nationals it’s great to be a part of it all. The club had children run for Lakeside and Ballymore and we are so proud of all of you for being involved 🤩

The rain certainly didn’t stop the smiles as we had our family games and BBQ day. Between juvenile and seniors the club is now 300 members strong and it was great to see so many brave the rain. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped make today happen. Juvenile training recommences on Tuesday 5:45pm 🤩

Summer time ☀️😎

What a weekend the juvenile Striders had!

On Friday we had a last training session before our summer break. We sadly said goodbye to Lucia and Sofía who are heading to Spain for the year

On Saturday we had our Parkrun event in Russborough to kick start the summer activity passport. Loads of junior Striders attending, along with the adults, and they were treated to with some yummy goodies afterwards

Sunday then brought the National B Championships where Lilabeth, Jake and Ruby flew the Striders flag. Lily was first up with shot put, coming 6th. Jake finished 5th in the long jump and Ruby cleared 1.35m to finish joint 3rd in the high jump! Amazing performances by all and Ruby bringing back a medal 🥉 👏

Enjoy the summer break☀️❤️💛

A special day for the club at the U12 Nationals in Tullamore today.

Ryan only started his high jump journey 3 months ago so to make it to this level was a huge achievement. Ryan placed 9th nationally out of 18 boys that competed. A really incredible result 🤩

Ryan also had the support of one of his close friends Joshua who took on the 60m earlier that morning running a great time of 9.24.

Very proud coaches of these boys giving it their all and flying the striders flag on the national stage 🤩

Another great weekend of firsts for our juvenile athletes at the track and field Leinster championships in Tullamore. We had 7 athletes on Saturday and 5 make the journey down today. To say we are proud of these children is an understatement. This level of competition is so high so to see athletes make strong finishes and achieve PB’s is fantastic. A special mention to Aoife who placed 2nd in the U14 high jump and will now progress to nationals alongside Ava, Holly and Emma who ran on the U17 inter county relay 4x100m and placed a brilliant 3rd to also continue to nationals.
