The Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rory O'Loughlin as our new Backs Coach!

Rory recently retired from a stellar professional rugby career with The Exeter Chiefs – with 24 Exeter Chiefs caps. He also boasts an impressive international record, having earned:

· Winners medal, St Michaels College, Leinster Schools Senior Cup 2012 success, taking the trophy to Aylesbury Road for only the second time in the school’s history.

Adding to his impressive rugby achievements, Rory is a graduate of University College Dublin with a degree in Business and Law.

We are confident that his experience, dedication, and passion for the game will be invaluable assets to our Bective team and Club.

Bective are delighted to confirm the appointment of David McAllister as U20’s Head Coach for the coming season. David joins our U’20’s management team of We Wa Power, Emmett Sheridan , Mick Sweeney, Johnny Vaughan and Tim O‘Flanagan.

David is a former Leinster Senior professional player in the mid 2000’s with 7 caps but unfortunately, his early career was cut short by injury.

His more recent coaching career has seen him take up roles with Terenure College SCT, Blackrock College SCT, Leinster Youths, Leinster U19’s,Terenure U20’s and Buccaneers U20’s, as well as his current roles as Head Coach with Technological University Dublin and the SCT at the High School, Rathgar, this season bringing the school to their first major Senior Schools Cup Final in over 50 years.

David brings a wealth of experience to our U20’s Programme and together with his knowledge of the game and enthusiasm and ambition for this role, we have no doubt that our U20’s squad and management will reap the benefits over the course of the coming seasons.

Everyone at Bective welcomes David to Donnybrook as our U20’s Head Coach and we wish him and his team the best of luck for the 2024-25 Season.

The Executive wish to announce that Bernard Jackman is stepping down from his role as Bective’s Director of Rugby with immediate effect.

Bernard’s recent career path has made it difficult for him to combine his rugby duties at Bective with his many media commitments including his recent appointment as High Performance Director to Horse Sport Ireland and he has therefore decided to step down at this time.

Bernard has brought great success to the club since coming on board in 2019. During his tenure, the club has been revitalised on and off the pitch. Back to back Leinster League Division 1A titles 2022 & 2023, AIL Play - Off Final 2022, Semi-Final 2023, All Ireland Jnr Cup Finalists 2024, plus 4 in a row Leinster 2XV League (J2) titles.

We wish Bernard the best of luck for the future and hope to see him in the club for a pint when the new season starts, hopefully, with a medal after a successful Olympics with the Irish Equestrian Team.

Bective mourns passing of Paddy O’Donoghue

The President, Executive and members of Bective Rangers FC are sad to report the news on the passing of our former player, coach, administrator, Paddy ‘Donoghue, our condolences to Sean, Paul and Elaine and the extended O’Donoghue family.

Paddy was educated at CBC Dun Laoghaire (now CBC Monkstown) and like many past pupils of CBC he joined Bective after school. Paddy was prop for the Bective Leinster Senior Cup winning teams in 1955 and 1956 and was capped for Ireland 11 times and played for the Barbarians.

When his playing days were over Paddy got involved in coaching and administration at Club and IRFU level. He coached CBC Monkstown to Leinster Schools success in1976 and served as both Hon Treasurer and Hon Secretary of the IRFU for a number of years. Paddy was also a fine golfer and a member at Woodbrook GC

He was a true stalwart of Bective and will be much missed.

May he rest in peace.
