Athy Rowing & Canoeing

There is nothing better than peaceful evenings out rowing on the Barrow! 🚣🚣

We had Level 2 assessment night 2 last night and we are delighted to say everyone passed with flying colours!! We had a great evening and even managed to shoot the weir despite the low water 🛶🛶 Massive well done to everyone who took part in this course and we look forward to seeing you all keeping up paddling and getting better and better!

There was no bank holiday rest for ARC today as we had a lovely paddle down the mighty River Barrow starting in Athy and finishing in Maganey 🛶 Water levels were low but spirits were high and everyone had a great morning’s paddle!!!

Another great evening on the water last night with our level 2 course!! Lots of capsizes and rescues practiced ahead of their assessment in the coming weeks🛶🛶

Some powerful learning done last night on our beginner course!! Many conquered their fears when we practiced capsizes with spraydecks on👏 . Can’t wait for next week when we get to do it all again and have mighty craic💪

Wednesday nights with ARC mean only one thing, it’s rowing time 🚣🚣💪

Our rowers were out getting in a strong session and working hard!! Well done guys 👏👏

Wow what a night on the river! We had the second night of our beginner course out this evening and what craic we had😄😄 Plenty of splashing done and craic had! Well done to everyone for practicing their capsizes 💪💪 Can’t wait for next week already🛶🛶
