💚💜 KILLARNEY VALLEY AC — KERRY’S BEST OVERALL JUVENILE CROSS COUNTRY CLUB 2026 ! 🏆 & SENIOR TEAM MEN CHAMPIONS🏆

A proud moment for KVAC as Captain Sadie Sugrue accepted the Perpetual Shield on behalf of our 200 athletes who competed across three weekends of the County Kerry Cross Country Championships!

Every athlete played their part, with determination, teamwork and pride in the green and purple helping secure this fantastic club achievement for the 4th time in a row. 👏

🥇 Four County Titles in the Juvenile 4×500m Relays!

Our relay teams delivered outstanding performances, winning all four titles and securing massive points towards the overall juvenile shield:

💚 U10 Girls: Bella Brosnan, Alice Pyne, Natalie Murphy & Cara McElroy.

💜 U10 Boys: Cillian Culloty, Teddy O’Brien, Dylan Aherne & Mateusz Poslada.

💚 U12 Girls: Lauren O’Sullivan, Siún O’Callaghan, Sadie Sugrue & Béibhinn O’Donnell, Saoirse O’Sullivan & Scarlett O’Sullivan.

💜 U12 Boys: Charlie J Kelliher, James Doody, Dylan O’Connor & Noah Brosnan, Luke Sheehan.

🏆 Senior Men — County Team Champions!

Our Senior Men also brought home the County Team Title, with Risteard Clifford crowned Senior Individual Champion, Jack O’Leary taking 2nd place and Conor Kissane finishing fourth. A brilliant team performance with the lads joined by Brendan Joy, Naoise Daly , Jehven Kurbanov, Brendan Kissane & Derek Pyne in the 7500 race.

🥈 Senior Women — Second Team Place!

Congratulations to Fiona Doody, Margaret O’Connor, Mary Clare Healy & Grace O’Meara, whose combined points secured second place in the Senior Women’s team competition!

From our youngest runners to our senior teams, this was a tremendous championship campaign. Thank you to all our athletes, coaches, parents, volunteers and supporters for making it possible. 🙌

💚💜 A great family day of fun, strength and community spirit!

Killarney Valley AC had a fantastic day at today’s fundraiser, hosted by Killarney Valley Classic & Vintage Club. We are delighted to be one of the community groups benefiting from the funds raised and sincerely appreciate their support.

We brought along one of Track & Field’s traditional events, Weight for Distance, giving the public a chance to test their strength and throwing skills! There was plenty of friendly competition, with first-place prizes awarded for the longest throws in each category:

🏆 Women’s winner – Michaela O’Connor
An impressive 4.87 metres with the 28lb weight great power & strength.

🏆 Men’s winner – Ruairi Coughlan
A powerful 5.01 metres with the 56lb weight.

🏆 Men’s Over-50 winner – Mike McCarthy
A winning throw of 5.38 metres with the 35lb weight.

🏆 Men’s Over-80 winner – Liam Murphy
A fantastic 4.97 metres with the 28lb weight!

Congratulations to our winners and a big thank you to everyone who took part with such enthusiasm, fun and sporting spirit. 👏

An Icon of Athletics the great Jason Smyth made a long awaited visit to our Oasis of Athletics.
One of the fastest ever Irish Sprinters and 18 years undefeated in para athletics and Six Paralympics Golds as well as Twice the Irish 100m sprint Champion with a PB of 10.22 seconds. Also a winner of Dancing with the Stars 🕺💃
We are all looking forward to Jason Smyth on stage tomorrow 7pm in the Plaza Hotel for a fireside chat courtesy of Killarney Chamber & AIB Killarney .

Another proud day for Killarney Valley AC at Day 2 of the Kerry Athletics Cross Country Championships, with the Uneven Ages & Intermediate races taking place in Brosna, hosted by An Ríocht AC.

Killarney Chamber of Commerce are hosting a free evening with Jason Smyth on Wednesday 7th October in the Plaza Hotel, Killarney.

🏃‍♀️ County Cross Country Championships — Day 1, Foilmore

Killarney Valley AC opened the Kerry cross country season with 84 athletes competing in the even-age and novice championships, hosted by Iveragh AC.

We celebrated three individual county champions: Natalie Murphy (U10 girls), James Doody (U12 boys) and Fionn Culloty (U16 boys). KVAC also won five team titles: novice men, U10 girls, U10 boys, U12 boys and U16 girls. County silver went to the novice ladies team — Grace O’Meara, Sinead Hickey, Marie Claire Healy and Amanda Keane — and the U12 girls team.

In the novice races, Risteard Clifford finished second, with Conor Crowley, Shane Ryan and Jevhren Kurbenov helping the men win team gold. Grace O’Meara finished third, leading the women’s team to silver.

In the U10 races, Alice Pyne was second behind champion Natalie Murphy, while Dylan Aherne and Cillian Culloty finished second and third. Both U10 teams won gold. Lauren O’Sullivan and Bébhinn O’Donnell took second and third in the U12 girls, whose team won silver. James Doody won the U12 boys’ title, with Charlie Jay Kelliher 5th , helping the team to gold.

Carolina Kelly finished fifth in the U14 girls and John Byrne sixth in the U14 boys. Muireann Breen was third in the U16 girls, with teammates fourth and sixth, securing team gold, while Fionn Culloty won the U16 boys’ title.

Kirsten Kenny and Tara O’Sullivan finished second and third in the U18 girls. Conor Duffin and Liam Murphy were third and fifth in the U18 boys. In the U20 boys, Karl James O’Neill finished second, Michael Crowley fifth and James Ward sixth.

Congratulations to every athlete, including those whose efforts helped their teammates onto the podium. Thank you to our coaches, parents and supporters, and to Iveragh AC for hosting Day 1 in Foilmore.

Cross country is for the brave, the resilient and the tough — and KVAC showed all three today! 💚💜
