Happy and homeward bound! 🦢❤️🖤

A massive thank-you once again to everyone who supported us on our Barcelona Cup adventure, and to Noel Maher of Maher’s Master Butchers, Reeks, Killarney, for sponsoring our fantastic gear.

Our super kit made sure the Mastergeeha Swan was noticed all around Cambrils, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the trip—with a brilliant Plate Victory for the team! 🏆

What an adventure, what a team, and what incredible memories to cherish for a lifetime.

🏆 BARCELONA PLATE WINNERS! 🏆

What a weekend, what an adventure and what an experience for these girls! Mastergeeha return home with international silverware after an unforgettable Barcelona Cup campaign. 🇮🇪❤️🖤

Our only defeat of the weekend came against the eventual Cup winners from Sweden, who were a superb team and worthy champions.

Day 2 brought weather more familiar to Kilbrean than Barcelona, with wind and rain throughout, but our girls were absolutely brilliant.

⚽ Plate Semi-Final: Mastergeeha 6–0 Athletic Valls

A superb performance saw us book our place in the final, with goals from Eabha Moynihan (2), Mia Doherty, Isla Cronin, Áine Herlihy and Gracie Maher.

⚽ Plate Final: Mastergeeha 0–0 LoPa (Mastergeeha win 3–2 on penalties)

A repeat meeting with our Finnish opponents after the group-stage draw, and what a battle it was in the difficult conditions. We created the better chances, defended brilliantly and showed tremendous character, but couldn’t find the breakthrough.

So, to penalties! Two magnificent saves from our outstanding Ireland goalkeeper Shauna O’Riordan helped seal a 3–2 shootout victory and spark absolutely wild celebrations. Mastergeeha had won the Barcelona Cup Plate! 🏆

A special moment as our five captains for the weekend — Isla Cronin, Shauna O’Riordan, Kaitlin O’Riordan, Annabelle Casey and Sophie Moynihan — collected the trophy.

Every girl played an amazing part in this adventure:

🥅 Goalkeeper: Shauna O’Riordan

🛡️ Defence: Clodagh O’Sullivan, Laura Breen, Megan Murphy and Kaitlin O’Riordan

⚽ Midfield: Mia Doherty, Sophie Moynihan, Isla Cronin, Annabelle Casey, Ruby Moynihan and Lily O’Donoghue

🔥 Attack: Eabha Moynihan, Gracie Maher, Áine Herlihy and Aoibhinn O’Leary

A special mention to Laura Breen for her immense battles against LoPa’s number 91, and to Shauna for her outstanding goalkeeping and penalty heroics.

A huge thank you to all the parents and supporters who travelled and got behind the girls, and to our brilliant Chairperson Ciara Nagle for making the trip and overseeing everything.

And of course, a massive thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising and helped make this trip possible. These memories will stay with the girls for a lifetime.

An international plate, a weekend full of pride, and an adventure they will never forget.

Mastergeeha! ❤️🖤🏆

In the 2nd half Mastergeeha dominated the play.
A fantastic penalty save denied geeha the equaliser.
MEK keeper was excellent in denying geeha on several occasions... Final when geeha beat the keeper the post on 2 more occasions came to MEK rescue.....
Special mention to Jack Doyle playing his 1st game in goals.
Thanks to MEK for a great sporting game and to the Ref for overseeing a very entertaining morning of football.

🏆 U12 NATIONAL TROPHY MATCH REPORT 🏆

📍 Summerville Rovers (1️⃣) vs. Mastergeeha FC (7️⃣)

Our U12 boys made the journey to Limerick City to face Summerville Rovers in the National Trophy, coming away with a well-earned victory after a brilliant afternoon of football! 🔴⚫️🦢

The game started at a lively, energetic pace, and it was the home side who struck first in the opening exchanges. However, our boys showed great character, knuckling down, finding their rhythm, and taking control of the game.

A fantastic clinical effort in front of goal saw Conor Herlihy, Gavin Howard, Joseph Rohan, Dylan McAulliffe, and Cillian Brosnan all get on the scoresheet! ⚽️🔥

⭐ Highlight of the Day: Goal of the match goes to a picture-perfect delivery from Conor, who stood the ball up beautifully for Joseph to rise high and power a brilliant header into the back of the net - a finish Troy Parrott himself would be proud of! 🚀 Header of the highest quality!

Beyond the goals, it was a thoroughly cohesive collective team effort. Shane O'Boyle, Cathal Buckley, Adam Buckley, Micheal O'Riordan, Gearoid O'Rourke, and Captain Ross O'Donoghue all put in serious performances to lead the team to victory. 👏

🙌 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS & THANKS
🤝 To Summerville Rovers: Your club is a truly special place. Thank you for the warm welcome and your fantastic hospitality shown to our players and supporters after the match. It truly embodied the best traditions of the National Trophy.

Barcelona Cup – Day 1 🇮🇪⚽

A really positive opening day for Mastergeeha, with some excellent football on display, particularly in our first two games.

Game 1 was very even, with both teams competing well. We came closest to taking the lead when we struck the crossbar.

In Game 2, we played brilliantly, dominating for almost the entire match and creating multiple chances. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t find the net. A brilliant save also denied our opponents a late winner on their one breakaway.

Game 3 saw us come up against a top-class opposition who were deserved winners.

Lots of positives to take from today, especially the quality of our performances in the first two games. The girls can be very proud of their efforts.

Roll on tomorrow! 🔴⚫
