It is alarming to see only 0.3% of Indians have a inspite of us being the most populated country in the world.

Why is that?

1. Every gym markets itself using glamorous athletes doing out of the world tasks to lure people into the gym. While motivation selling is good for sales in the short run, not many owners realise that 99% of their population doesn’t want a washboard abs or rock hard pecs. All they want is some to help them get away from their sedentary & in some cases even just a stress buster from their daily mundane routine.

2. Almost 4/5 people in India want to lose . In such a scenario, when people sign up for a membership at a gym they are promised a certain X kg of weight loss on day 1. But for a month or even longer all they will be asked to do is spend countless minutes on the machines & eat a plain blatant diet that will drastically reduce their weight. Hardly does anybody introduce a new member to strength training. Its not alien language to us that is your best bet against any goal, be it , , get fitter, get stronger or even ageing gracefully.

3. Lastly, almost every gym owner knows the fact that the gym’s business model itself is flawed in India given the high rentals & relying on people to not turn up. Thus, they resort to upselling personal training packages over & above the gym membership to anyone who looks like a potential candidate. The problem is not with upselling. It is infact not transferring the benefits to the trainers who actually help the users to transform their lives. Most gyms keep as much as 70-80% of revenue & only pass on the remaining to the trainers making it extremely difficult for them to make a living out of it. Result: they end up taking tons of clients just to ensure food on the table & no quality control.

Hopefully the numbers change & someone comes up with a new model that changes the status quo & we will see more indians adopting an active lifestyle!

We all know Strength training has immense benefits. But more than 90% of people train in a fashion where they only train at 40-50% efficiency because of lack of awareness about movement patterns and science behind strength training. If you knew the right way to train and improved your training efficiency the results would substantially faster and more sustainable.

Launching Back2Basics - a 4-week Strength & Conditioning Program for anyone who wants to start their fitness journey or restart their fitness journey after a break.

The program will focus on fixing your basic movement pattern and eventually loading progressively over 4 weeks.

I & ⁩ will be running a free 1 week program from 29th May to 2nd June where we will be working out with you on ZOOM.

This 1 week program is to give you a feel of the program that we will be launching in the latter part of June.
