Western Miniature Rifle Club

Last night was a fantastic evening and there was a real buzz around the range. It was wonderful to welcome people who are visually impaired to the club and give them the opportunity to experience target shooting for themselves. The adapted equipment makes such a difference, allowing visually impaired people to take part in the sport independently and competitively. What was particularly exciting was seeing how quickly everyone settled in – everyone was hitting the target, with some achieving really impressive scores on their very first attempt! The evening was a true representation of how sport can be fully inclusive when the right support and opportunities are available. We hope that everyone who joined us enjoyed the experience and will want to come back and give shooting another go. Our doors are open, and everyone is welcome.

🏅 Another fantastic weekend for Jersey shooter Libby Hart at the British 50m Championships in Tondu!
Libby enjoyed outstanding success in the .22 Prone event, winning both the Women's University Championship and Junior Women's Championship after qualifying with a score of 612.1. She then claimed silver in the ISSF Junior Women's Final with 615.7.
The following day, Libby topped qualification in the .22 Three Positions event with a score of 568 and led the final after the kneeling stage. She went on to finish 2nd Junior and 3rd overall in the Senior Women's Championship.
A brilliant weekend of shooting and another impressive achievement for one of Jersey's rising stars. Congratulations, Libby! 👏🎯

It was great to welcome RM. Cdr Grindel and the Jersey Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets to this week.

Cdr Grindel was in the Island so took the opportunity to join some of the Cadets for their weekly air training at Western.

Tonight was air practice and the E J Le Brocq Perpetual Shield (20 shots on paper targets at 10m with a handicap). After a close match Kaia won by one point over Abbie with a score of 198 🎉🎉👏

Tonight’s competition was the Constable Le Brocq Shield (the closest to score 161), well done to Chloe who won with a score of 160.
We also had the final of the REB Voisin handicap knockout trophy between Kingsley and Tom. Kingsley secured the trophy by one point, scoring 200 🏆 🎉👏
This concludes the indoor .22 season.

Great fun tonight shooting the E J Egre Memorial Trophy, a rapid shoot of 10 shots per card at 15 yards to be shot within 90 seconds.
