🎯 The First British Schools Regional Championships at WMRC! 🇯🇪

Yesterday, Western Miniature R***e Club (WMRC) hosted the first British Schools Regional Championships to be held in the Channel Island, with six athletes taking to the firing line in the Open 10m Air R***e Precision event.

It was a closely fought competition, with positions changing right up to the final two shots! The pressure was on, but Liora Church held her nerve to claim first place in an exciting finish. 👏

🥇 1st – Liora Church
🥈 2nd – Rebecca Aked
🥉 3rd – Jasmin Schwartz

🏆 Team Event

The team competition was equally exciting, with Tom Marshall, Liora Church and Rebecca Aked taking the victory over the team of Esme Schwartz, Jasmin Schwartz and Chloe Allcock. Congratulations to the winning team! 👏🎯

Congratulations to all three medallists and to every athlete who competed today. It was fantastic to see such close competition and some excellent shooting!

A big thank you to everyone at WMRC who helped make this inaugural regional championship possible. 🎯

Last night was a fantastic evening and there was a real buzz around the range. It was wonderful to welcome people who are visually impaired to the club and give them the opportunity to experience target shooting for themselves. The adapted equipment makes such a difference, allowing visually impaired people to take part in the sport independently and competitively. What was particularly exciting was seeing how quickly everyone settled in – everyone was hitting the target, with some achieving really impressive scores on their very first attempt! The evening was a true representation of how sport can be fully inclusive when the right support and opportunities are available. We hope that everyone who joined us enjoyed the experience and will want to come back and give shooting another go. Our doors are open, and everyone is welcome.

We look forward to a long and prosperous future working with Eyecan.

Thank you so much to our sponsors One Foundation, Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey, Wolf Investments, Pentagon and B&Q for supporting us so we could make this happen.

Thank you to Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey, Jersey Sport and the Constable of St Peter’s for attending this event.
