Pilates is the key to a body that moves well; to a posture that feels taller and more aligned. A body that moves like it did when you were 10 or even 20 years younger.
And when your body moves that well, you'll naturally feel more confident, more comfortable in your own skin and more enthusiastic to try new physical activities.
At Healthhaus, our Movement Studio is set up with multiple pieces of Pilates equipment (and Gyrotonic) that challenge your body in different ways. We stay true to the original concept created by Joseph Pilates which offers a far greater variety of movement patterns than Reformer alone.
Three ways to try Pilates at Healthhaus:
🌸 Complete beginner? Start with our Mat Pilates classes that help you learn the basic movement and breathing patterns. Open to members and non-members.
🌸 Curious to feel the benefits? Book our Introductory Package followed by individual 1:1 sessions with our Equipment Pilates Instructors and you'll be reaping the rewards of your investment in just a few weeks! Open to members and non-members.
🌸 Reformer Pilates regular looking for a change? If you know the basics and fancy a new challenge, join our Equipment Pilates classes* on Tuesday evenings and Friday mornings. Limited to 5 people - open to members and non-members.
*Please note you will need at least one 1:1 session with our Instructors to assess your level and discuss any injuries or medical issues before joining a group class.

We are delighted to share details of our next event at Healthhaus...
Jessica Pinel, a local Nutritionist who focuses on fertility, will be hosting a 'Menstrual Cycle Health and Fertility Workshop' on Tuesday 26 May (6pm - 7:30pm).
This event will take place in our Club Lounge. Refreshments will be available.
The Menstrual Cycle Health and Fertility Workshop is designed to help you better understand your body and support your hormones through nutrition.
In this 60-minute workshop you’ll learn how to:

Due to personal circumstances, Gary will be stepping away from teaching his MyRide class at Healthhaus for the foreseeable future. Therefore, this class is now cancelled until further notice.
We thank Gary for his energy and dedication and know many of you have loved being part of his classes. We wish him all the best and hope to welcome him back in the future.

If you’re not seeing results with your gym training, consider the concept of ‘Progressive Overload’. This is where you make small, incremental changes to your weights, reps or movement patterns to create additional stress on the muscles.
In our Exercise Motivation Psychology event last night, Sam used this brilliant visual example from Ancient Greece to help us see the power of progressive overload.
If Milo of Croton tried to lift a fully grown bull on day one, he would have failed. But by lifting and carrying uphill the same animal every day from calf to adult he created steady muscular strength and adaptation which allowed him to one day carry the bull.
If you’d like some help with your workouts to put this method into practice (with free weights not farm animals!) speak to one of our PTs or Milon Coaches in the gym.
