Philippa Busuttil, proudly representing Malta 🇲🇹, competed yesterday in the Women’s Qualification and Team Final at the Commonwealth Games, delivering an excellent performance across all four apparatus.
Her Balance Beam and Floor routines were particularly outstanding, with her beam exercise receiving exceptional praise from the commentators. They described it as “the highest quality they have seen all day,” calling it “sensational on beam” and highlighting “some very well executed gymnastics from this gymnast.” They also remarked that she is “stepping it up for Malta,” recognizing the impressive standard she brought to the competition.
Her outstanding performances earned her qualification for both the All-Around Final and the Balance Beam Final, making history as the first Maltese gymnast ever to qualify for Commonwealth Games finals.
A special mention goes to her personal coach in Bergamo, Massimo, whose dedication has played a key role in her journey, as well as to Coach Niamh, who is accompanying and supporting Philippa throughout this competition.
We would also like to thank the Malta Olympic Committee (MOC) for their continued support of Team Malta and our athletes on the international stage.
Don’t forget to tune in and watch the action live tonight! The apparatus finals begin at 6:00 p.m. (GMT)
Wishing Philippa the very best of luck for today’s All-Around Final and again for the Balance Beam Final on Tuesday.
Go, Philippa! Go Malta! 🇲🇹💪

Our Silver Group and Level 5 gymnasts have just returned from an incredible gymnastics training camp in Germany! Accompanied by their coaches, Ms. Martha and Ms. Zyanne, they worked hard throughout the trip learning a variety of new drills, techniques, and conditioning exercises designed to improve their strength, flexibility, and performance. It was a fantastic opportunity to train in a new environment, challenge themselves, and gain valuable experience while making lasting memories together. We’re so proud of all their hard work and can’t wait to see them put their new skills into practice!

🇲🇹 HISTORY MADE! 🥈
For the first time ever, Malta proudly participated at the European Gym for Life Challenge in Pistoia, Italy Eurogym Pistoia 2026 , joining 5,387 athletes from 25 nations in Europe’s biggest celebration of Gymnastics for All.
Every Maltese athlete represented our country through Chun Gymnastics, fulfilling the vision of our founder, Mr. Chun, who believed that every gymnast, regardless of level, deserves the opportunity to wear Malta’s colours, carry its flag, and be proud of their own achievements.
Our performance, “The Untold,” explored the unseen magic within us all—our hidden strength, courage and resilience—and was honoured with a 🥈 Silver Award among 74 performances.
A heartfelt thank you to our coaches, Zyanne Webster and Peppijna Dalli, our Head of Delegation, Audrey Sultana, and Malta Gymnastics Federation Secretary Debbie Caruana, whose unwavering support behind the scenes helped make this historic moment possible.
Most importantly, thank you to every parent who believed in this journey. Your support gave these young athletes the opportunity to experience the world, proudly represent Malta, create memories that will last a lifetime, and prove that they can shine just as brightly on one of Europe’s biggest stages.
We hope this historic milestone inspires more gymnasts to discover the beauty of Gymnastics for All.
This is only the beginning of GFA 🇲🇹✨
