Yesterday was a big day at Cascade Stud, as 2 horses went to their new homes. In the morning Vino went left and went in the float all by himself for the first time and was a star all the way, and is happy eating his head off at his new home. Then yesterday afternoon Maple went to her new home. She loaded up in the new float like it was a normal part of her day and was a good girl all the way as well, and she is tucked up warm and stuffing her face as well. It's always sad when one of the team head off (let alone 2 in one day), but they both have fantastic homes so it makes their leaving all the better.

Vino (Cascades Vino) is also getting a lot of training as he goes to his new home on Sat. Lucky for Vino he is only going down the road to Tauranga area, so not such a big trip for him, but he is going in the float by himself, so he's got to be a big brave boy. Here are some photos of him getting some of his training at home.

Last years foals are getting to be big boys and girls, and the first one has flown the coop. Utah is on his way to his new home in the South Island, and he was a star to go onto the truck. This is some photos of his preparation at home in readiness for the big adventure, and his big sister Solly being the role model (Solly is also by Diego out of Angel a bush bred mare, and Solly is 2 years old in Nov)

If you have been sitting on the fence about getting a Tex baby, this season is his last season here in Auck. He is going home to Invercargill as of the end of Nov and the LFG will be honoured by AI from Invercargill. It was a surprise so I'm sorry I couldn't give you any more warning as I've just found out myself

Finally, Frida is free of her rope halter. With either Scully (her daughter) or Tango's help (the tied off end was chewed and slobbered on lol), her halter was on the ground and she is a free woman. I bet she is enjoying not having that on any more. It was so solid, it stayed in shape, as per the photo lol

Tex (Gotta Noble Legacy) has decided that Spring is here as he is casting his coat already in preparation for the warmer weather lol

I did a thing! Topaz went to her new home yesterday as I want to reduce my numbers, so of course I got another horse! Welcome Skye (Popinjay), a bay 15.3hh Warmblood mare that is a maiden mare and will produce an amazing type of sport horse crossed with Tex. Roll on Spring! Now to just make sure that I don't replace every horse I rehome with another horse lol

Today Topaz (Cascading Deja Vu) went to her new home. She was a really good girl to go on the float and travelled well, but did a bit of a rumba while waiting for the float to get moving lol. This is a picture of her at her new home, looking quite settled already, and with her new friend (to be, in time lol)
