🌟 More than 50 junior athletes competed for age-group titles at yesterday's Otago XC Champs, providing one of the strongest participation numbers of the Otago winter season - well done to Caversham's Walter Howard-Smith (🥉3rd BU12) and Sammy Cotter (6th GU14), and everyone who competed! 🌟

FAQ
🏃‍♀️Do I need to register? No need to pre register, just turn up on the day
🏃‍♀️How much does it cost? There is no cost to enter but we would appreciate a can to be donated to the local food bank
🏃‍♀️What time does it start? Arrive by 9.45am for a 10am start
🏃‍♀️How far is the race? Each race is about 1km with fun obstacles and options to take a short cut for littler legs
🏃‍♀️How old do kids need to be? The race is aimed at 5-10 year olds but older and younger children are welcome too. Parents are welcome to complete the course with their children.
🏃‍♀️Are there medals for winners? These races focus on participation and fun with all runners receiving a ribbon.

Entries are now open for the 2026 Otago Cross Country Champs, this Sunday 19 July starting 10:30am at Chisholm Park Golf Course, 16 Tahuna Road - let's go, Caversham!

Online entries now open for the JG Barnes Cross Country Race, THIS SUNDAY June 14th (10am start):

🖤 U8 Fun Run
🖤 U10/U12 = 1.25km (1 lap)
🖤 U14 = 2.5km (2 laps)

Please note:
⭐ Entries close at 6 pm on Thursday 11th June, to allow the handicapper time to do their thing
⭐ Entries are free for kids already registered with Cavy
⭐In the Under 14, Under 12 and Under 10 races, the first four runners from the same club counts for the team’s competition in each event
⭐ No one may enter or compete in more than one race
