THURSDAY LEAGUE TRAINING 🛼🛼

This season our roller derby league looks a little different than what we have become used to.
We are quite low in numbers which has meant that some changes needed to be made, to how our trainings were structured…
Also for the first time in many years, we are only playing one team this year, with our Bonnie Brawlers & Gallow Lasses skaters being merged into a mixed team.
Our team training is still on a Sunday, our Tuesday night’s will hopefully be scrimmage again soonish, but for the now are run as full-contact sessions, & our Thursday nights have been designated as “uncoached” sessions….this means our skaters can come, warm up together and then work on solo skills or team up with others & work on things in a group scenario.
Last night we were all a little spoiled with our fave rolling into the breach & helping us work on some jam starts, while our Fresher skaters danced around cones with newfound toestop confidence & agility, & practiced other skills.

So as a league, we embrace the changes & we will work our butts off to make the best of it & help each other improve throughout.

DUNEDIN DERBY always makes Sunday a Fun day 😅😅😅

Great session yesterday morning, with Coach rolling us through all sorts of tricks & drills!

We JUKED, we THRUSTED, we panted & sweated…..all before we even got the skates on our tootsies!! 😅

Thanks heaps Fox for an awesome session.
Training is definitely different this season, with a mixed team environment, it’s really cool to see all of our skaters working together to make it work & to all be challenged & working hard on our own development with guidance from Coaching.

Yesterday was also the first time BabySn**cher has taken to the track on a different type of wheels from his pram ones!! 😂 Look at the wee cutie go!!! 🥹🥹🤩
