We're excited to be delivering our Primary Schools Football Festivals across Timaru and Oamaru over four days this week, welcoming more than 1,200 Year 5–8 students to the pitch.

These festivals are all about giving young people the opportunity to enjoy football, represent their school, build new friendships and create lasting memories in a fun, inclusive environment.

🚨 Dunedin Junior & Youth Football – Saturday Update 🚨

Due to the significant rainfall today and further rain forecast overnight, a number of grounds are already underwater and have been deemed unplayable.

All Dunedin Junior and Youth Football fixtures scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled.

At this stage, Senior Football will proceed as scheduled, as the Dunedin City Council has not closed the grounds.

Clubs are asked to use their discretion when assessing ground conditions before matches. If a pitch is deemed unplayable upon arrival, the fixture should not proceed and will be deferred.

Travelling teams: Please contact your opposition before departing to check ground conditions and confirm whether the match is likely to go ahead.

⚠️ Dunedin Junior Football Cancelled – Saturday Morning ⚠️

Due to overnight rain, further precipitation forecast throughout the morning, cold temperatures, wind chill, and deteriorating ground conditions, we have sadly made the decision to cancel all Dunedin Junior Football scheduled for this morning on health and safety grounds.

With a significant amount of sickness circulating in the community at the moment, the wellbeing of our players, coaches, referees, volunteers and supporters has also been taken into consideration.

At this stage, 15th Grade YDL, 16th Grade, 18th Grade and Senior Football will continue as scheduled. However, we ask clubs, coaches, managers and referees to please use their discretion both before kick-off and during matches should the weather or ground conditions deteriorate.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please stay warm, stay safe, and take extra care if you're travelling.

Southern United U18 Girls – Head Coach Announcement
We're excited to announce that Arnon Tapp will return as Head Coach of the Southern United U18 Girls for the upcoming season! 💙💛⚽

Following another strong campaign, Arnon is back to lead the side as preparations begin for the 2026 season.

Think you've got what it takes? Registrations of Interest are now open for players wishing to be considered for the squad.

We're currently keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and ground conditions ahead of tomorrow's games.

At this stage, there will be no BBQ at Dunedin Junior Football.

We will endeavour to advise of any cancellations or venue changes by 7:00am tomorrow.

If you're planning on travelling to an away fixture, we encourage you to stay in contact with the opposition club regarding local weather and ground conditions before departing.
