🏊🏼‍♀️ Another week, another Swim the Distance update

There's shuffling all over the show this week, with Matiu Hawea cracking the top 10 again by mere metres!

Oh, and our top 3? They have all completed at least 3 trips to Mahia, which is NEXT LEVEL 🤯

Our team leaderboard has had a shake-up, with The Bellyflops making an appearance in third place 👏🏼

🏊 Kia ora koutou

You might have noticed the pools haven't felt quite as warm on those chilly mornings lately, particularly this morning. Here's what's going on.

The recent cold snaps overnight have caused our pool heating to shut down for long stretches overnight. During the day, the pools are still warming up close to normal; it's just the cold nights causing the hiccup.

We're working with our heating unit provider to sort out the cause, and we're expecting a fix this week.

We know this has dragged on a bit, so thanks for your patience while we get it sorted properly, not just a quick patch, but something that'll hold up next time the temperature drops.

🏊🏼‍♀️ Swim the Distance Leaderboard update for 11 September

No change in the team lineup AGAIN, ka pai Turanga Tangata Rite 👏🏼

A wee bit of shuffling in our top ten, with a newbie cracking the list; good on ya, Kelli MacDonald 🙌 Also, shout-out to Alissa Thomas, who has completed the 45.5km trip over THREE times! 🤯

Not long to go, folks! 13 people have completed the swim to Māhia, with only a couple of participants a few km out from smashing the goal.

Kiwa Pools - Pool Temperature Update

We're pleased to advise that the Splash Pool has now returned to its normal operating temperature.

The Learn to Swim Pool is continuing to warm and is now close to its normal temperature range, with the Leisure Pool not far behind.

Our team continues to monitor temperatures closely and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while the system returns to normal operating conditions.

Pool temps are on the rise again 🏊

Heads up, pool whānau! During our annual service on the pool heating system, we found a fault that caused a drop in refrigerant. We've found the issue and repairs are underway.

At the same time, we had a scheduled backwash to keep the water clean and clear. This normally causes a small, short-term dip in temperature too, so the timing wasn't great.

The good news? The 50m Pool hasn't been affected at all; it's heated a different way.

Our other pools are sitting close to 29°C right now. We expect the Learn to Swim, Leisure, and Splash Pools to be back to their usual temps (31.5°C and 32.5°C) by this evening.

Thanks for your patience while we sort this out. We'll keep you posted once we know how long the repairs will take.
