🌞💥 What made our Secondary Schools Fast 5 Festival so spectacular yesterday? 💥🌞

Was it the incredible positivity our rangatahi brought to every court? 💙
The colourful, creative costumes that had everyone smiling? 🎭
The glorious Gisborne sunshine? ☀️
Or seeing players of all abilities and experience proudly representing schools from right across our region? 🏐

The answer... ALL OF IT! 🙌

We couldn't be prouder of the amazing atmosphere everyone created. Yesterday was everything school sport should be – fun, inclusive, supportive, and full of smiles!

A huge shout out to our incredible numbers:

✨ 312 awesome rangatahi
✨ All the teachers, umpires and whānau who gave their time to make the day such a success.

Thank you to every player who stepped onto the court, every school that got behind the event, and every supporter who cheered from the sidelines. Thanks also to Whitiora Tairawhiti for your support. We look forward to sharing your photos from the day! You all made it a day to remember! 💙

What a special evening celebrating our GNC U16 Representative players and recognising the incredible commitment, resilience and growth they have shown throughout the season.

We were also proud to introduce two beautiful new trophies kindly donated by Whangara Netball Club and Sherrille Beale. It was lovely to have Gaye, Marama and Sherrille with us to present these awards ❤

Congratulations to both recipients. You should feel immensely proud. Not only have you achieved something special through your performances this season, but your names will forever be linked with two legends of Gisborne Netball whose passion, service and commitment have helped shape representative netball for generations.

To every player, thank you for your dedication this season. Every challenge, every win, every loss and every lesson has made you stronger. We are so proud of you all.

MITRE 10 OFFICIALS CORNER:

Last weekend our Umpire Coaches were assessing some of our umpires after coaching and screening previously this season.

We're happy to share CONGRATULATIONS to Lu who was endorsed for her Centre Award, and to Haki and Tee who achieved their Centre Award. Special mention to one of our Junior Umpires Zeva who achieved the Centre Award on a senior game.

And also congratulations to Claire who achieved her Zone Award at the premier games in the Y on Wednesday night.

While we don't yet have a confirmed head coach, GNC is committed to supporting the team at tournament. We are determined to make this campaign happen and provide a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
