A beautiful morning for a gander from Hamilton Gardens!

One of the best things about starting from the Gardens is the choice of routes and distances. From the impressive Pekapeka Bridge to the beautiful river path, there’s something for everyone to enjoy - whether you’re running or walking.

Today was a big day for our members with parkrun milestones galore!

Graham celebrated his 25th volunteer by marshalling at the University of Waikato parkrun ensuring that both Lynda and Andrew completed their 500th and 250th parkruns respectively!

It was an awesome morning with plenty of cake, and plenty of Hamilton Road Runners cheering our members on. 👏

Well done to Graham, Andrew and Lynda on these awesome achievements 💜 💚 💙

We had a bumper turn out for our bring a friend night!

Some members were sent out to herd cats, or at least find some on Collingwood Street, but only one was found.

Then back to the club for post run refreshments and chats. So nice now the evenings are lighter.

Our next bring a friend night is November but if you want to join a bunch of friendly people who like to run and walk before then check out our website to see what’s coming up ⬇️

We’ve got two very deserving members to celebrate as we catch up on our Member of the Month awards!

🌟 August: Heather

Heather really embodies what being part of Hamilton Road Runners is all about.

Over the past few months, Heather has been getting out there, taking on plenty of different challenges and representing the club along the way.

But it’s not just about the events. Heather is always encouraging others, getting people involved and showing that being part of a running club is about much more than the result.

A very deserving August Member of the Month! 👏

🌟 September: Wren

Wren may be a relatively new member, but there has already been some fantastic progress.

The past few months have seen Wren going from strength to strength, achieving plenty of PBs, taking on longer distances and giving a range of new challenges a go.

It’s been great to see Wren getting stuck in and making the most of being part of the club.

A very well deserved September Member of the Month! 👏

It’s been a full-on weekend for Hamilton Road Runners, with members out and about at parkruns across the motu - and even across the ditch in Australia! 🇳🇿🇦🇺

We also had a few particularly loopy members taking on the Blue Lake 24hr Challenge and Walk to Talk 12hr Event - Ōhaupō.

Meanwhile, back home, a few of us weren’t going to let losing an hour of sleep or a bit of rain stop us from getting out for a run and walk along the Round the Bridges course.

Because that’s one of the best things about Hamilton Road Runners - whatever the weather, whatever the pace, you’ll always find someone to run and walk with.
