The final fixtures of the junior football season are going ahead this morning!

It’s a little drizzly out there, but conditions are good enough to get the last games of the season played. 💙

With the pitches a little soggy, please keep the sliding to a minimum 🙏🌱 We’d love to look after the grounds and leave the pitches in good shape, especially with the Unison Junior Festival coming up next weekend!

CDL fixtures for this weekend see’s two very exciting games on Sunday down at Park Island! Our U14’s and U15’s both take on Palmerston North United. This isn’t any double header it’s also a top of the table double header! With Rovers and United sitting at the top in both leagues. Good luck to all that are involved this weekend 👌🏻

Don’t forget to head over to the Hits Gazebo this morning to meet the players and win some awesome prizes from 9am - 11am 🩷🐬💙

Our first Good Sport for 2026 is Ben Gunson! 👏

Despite facing an ankle injury, a broken wrist and a concussion this season, Ben from the Napier City Rovers Junior Football Club, Comets football team has continued to show up with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. Even when he couldn't take the field, he was there supporting his teammates at games, trainings and tournaments.

Yesterday, the The Breeze Hawke's Bay 97.5FM team surprised Ben at training with his Good Sports certificate, a $50 voucher, and a sausage sizzle for the whole team 🌭🎉

We’re getting ready to celebrate our local junior sports stars of 2026! 🏅

The Unison Medal Ceremonies are back next month, recognising one standout player from every Taupō junior hockey team and from Hawke’s Bay junior hockey, netball, football and rugby teams.

We're celebrating tamariki who’ve shown fair play, great work ethic and discipline 👏

Nomination info has been sent to all sports codes to share with clubs and schools.

As a bonus, every HB Unison Medal winner will go in the draw for two chances to win a helicopter flight for themselves and a parent or caregiver! 🚁
