The Rising Stars Open is in the books and what a cool day it was.
Did I say cool? It was actually windy, cold and we narrowly avoided a downpour, but we got it done anyway! The kids were troopers and the tourney was a great success.

We had 19 tough as nails young disc golfers take part and they came away with a cool experience. Especially considering the vast majority had never been in a Professional Disc Golf Association tourney and had never been rated!

They also came away with a great player pack and prizes.
Speaking of which, thanks so much to NZ Disc Golf and NZDSS for sponsoring the Juniors Series. It’s a great initiative and hopefully we can keep growing it year on year. And to Creative Taupō for making it a digital detox for our young people!

Final thanks to the club members and parents that helped score, helped setup and helped make the ratings official!

Check out the photos, especially the one where my pre-teen daughter gives me the evils because she’s sick of me already. 😂🫣

Hayley from Taupo Local came for a chat about Spa Park and wrote up a cool article to spread the word about disc golf in Taupō. Follow her page for more local stories about people doing great things to make our district the great place that it is.

🥳 It's a huge relief to report that we have been APPROVED for a licence agreement to keep the Spa Park Disc Golf Course in the ground through to 2034.

There were over 800 positive submissions sent into Taupō District Council, and that is an astounding figure. Thank you so much for your help to make this happen. In return, we promise to look after this course for many years to come.

We're already looking forward to our next round knowing the future is very bright at Spa Park!
