Manaia RC Raceway

Hey team
Unfortunately we weren’t able to get the track rolled today so no practice tomorrow. Think we best give it the week to settle and start practicing as of next Tuesday.

Cheers
Matt.

Thank you very much to all the helpers who showed up today to help get our track ship-shape for the coming season.

We are getting some rain tomorrow which will help bed the new surface in and then when it’s dry enough Chris will be giving the track a wheel pack with the ride-on as the surface is quite soft still so we will update you all on wether or not we are go for Tuesday practice but we may need to allow another week for it to settle down properly otherwise we will undo all our hard work if we drive on it before it is ready.

Anyway have a great weekend and enjoy this little edit that my son Ryan put together for us.

Cheers
Matt.

Track has been turned over ready for raking and rolling tomorrow plus some jump work and the trenches we dug for the new water lines have sunk so we might top those up also.

Hey team
Planning to have a bit of a working bee at the track on Saturday, weather permitting. Will be freshening up jumps, moving some dirt around and resurfacing the track. Bring ya rakes and spades, maybe a wheelbarrow or two and we will get it done. Will look at getting started 9.30-10am.

Have a good week
Matt.

Super5 GIZZY & HASTINGS coming soon. Get your entries in online at www.nzrca.co.nz

23/08/2026

Hey team, I hope everyone is surviving the winter all good. Now that we aren’t actually too far from popping out the other end of it with spring starting September 1st I thought I’d make a quick post to let you know what RC events we have to look forward too.

First up will be the first of the Super5 series back for another season. Jules has had a great idea to compress the schedule by adding an extra double header weekend which gets the series done quicker, gives you more bang for buck and frees up other dates in what is a pretty hectic season.

The first Super5 will kick off at the awesome Gizzy facility on Saturday the 13th of September and will roll straight into Sunday 14th at Hastings. We are told this will be the last hoorah for the beloved Showgrounds track before HBRC move to their new location so let’s all get there to send it off with an epic days racing.

The super5 dates to mark in your calendar are:
- GIZZY Saturday 13th September
- HBRC Sunday 14th September
- CMR Sunday 4th October
- MRC Saturday the 14th November
- RIR Sunday 15th November.

Gizzy and Hastings entry’s are live so go get in there.

As for MRC our track has weathered the winter well and a quick mow and a whip round with the weak killer will have her ready to rip. We will be kicking off our Tuesday practices again as of Tuesday the 29th of September so get your winter builds buttoned down and get ready for a great summer of RC.

Lastly our postponed club champs is slated to take place on Sunday the 1st of November. Entry for that is already live so feel free to enter at

That’s all from me for now, more updates as the outdoor season approaches.

Stay warm
Matt.

MRC - Masterton RC Club Champs 1st November 2026

15/06/2026

Hey team, after assessing the current situation we have decided to postpone our club champs till Sunday the 1st of November.

We have made this call for a few reasons.

A- People are starting to focus on the indoor season.

B- Outdoor racers in central north island have likely blown their travel allowance on the recent super 5 double header.

C- it’s pretty cold now so weather is a risk and if weather is good it’s still pretty cold.

D- moving it out till November gives everyone plenty time to plan to make the event.

We would like a good turn out for this event and just reading the room I don’t think this weekend was the best timing for it. Hope no one is too disappointed, but we will see you at the new date which is already live on nzrca.

Have a great week
Matt.
