🌧️ Rainy Sunday = gym day!

No rowing today, but the club was still busy with Masters, Intermediate Boys & Girls and Novice Boys & Girls all getting some training in. 💪🚣

And of course, a few little supporters along for the morning too! 😄

Great to see the club so busy, even when the weather doesn’t play ball.

🇳🇿🚣 Good luck, Ash!

Former Whakatāne Rowing Club and Whakatāne High School rower Ash Schutz is currently representing New Zealand in Michigan as part of the Rowing New Zealand Under 19 Development Squad.

Ash has already had an outstanding regatta, winning:
🥈 Silver in the Men’s Double
🥉 Bronze in the Men’s Quad

The competition is incredibly close, with New Zealand currently leading by just one point.

Congratulations on everything you’ve achieved so far, Ash. The entire Whakatāne rowing community is proud of you and will be cheering you on for the rest of the regatta.

Go well and bring it home! 🇳🇿💙

🚣‍♀️ Another great day at Whakatāne Rowing Club.

Our Novice Girls, Novice Boys and some of our Intermediate Boys were out making the most of some fantastic winter conditions on the river.

It’s not just about the time on the water. Learning how to prepare boats, look after equipment and work together as a crew are all part of becoming a rower.

Plenty of smiles, plenty of learning, and another step forward for everyone involved.

🚣 Sunday morning training.

Great to see such a good turnout today with some of our Masters, Boys, Girls and Novice rowers all getting their work done on the ergs.

Everyone’s at a different stage of their rowing journey, but the effort and commitment were the same right across the squads.

Thanks to Trust Horizon for the lighting, fridges, dishwasher, and these fans which are keeping our rowers cool during these hot 🔥 erg sessions.
