Sometimes, the biggest barrier to movement isn't a lack of motivation.

It's believing we're too old, too weak, too unfit, or that our bodies are no longer capable.

But exercise doesn't have to look the same for everyone.

It can be modified around your medical history, adapted to your current abilities, and progressed at a pace that works for you.

At Cornerstone, we don't expect you to fit into a particular idea of fitness.

We meet you where you are and help you build from there.

Because exercise isn't about proving what your body can do today.

It's about building the capacity and confidence for what you want to do tomorrow.

It's easy to look around and wonder if you’re doing enough.

Someone is lifting heavier.
Moving faster.
Progressing sooner.
Or simply seems further ahead.

But someone else’s progress doesn’t mean you’re behind. Their strength doesn’t make you weaker. And their journey doesn’t take anything away from yours.

Health isn’t a competition, and progress was never meant to look the same for everyone.

Your body.
Your circumstances.
Your starting point.
Your pace.

They’re all different.

So instead of measuring yourself against someone else, look back at how far you’ve come.

The only progress that needs to make sense is your own.

Exercise Spotlight: Tricep Pushdown

The tricep pushdown is one of the most effective exercises for developing your triceps. It benefits your overall strength and endurance by engaging your core, back, and shoulders. Tricep strength plays a crucial role in any action that requires extending your forearms at the elbow. Whether you’re closing a car trunk, throwing a ball, digging in your garden, or crumpling a paper bag for an overflowing recycling bin, these everyday tasks could not performed without help from your triceps.

Join Gina as we delve into the Tricep Pushdown in today’s .

✅ Key Takeaways:
Form Check 1: Lean yourself forward slightly before you start the exercise to get the full range of motion.
Form Check 2: Make sure you feel the tension in your triceps when you perform the motion.
Form Check 3: Your upper arms should remain stationary against your body as your forearms push the weight down.

Although this versatile upper-body workout is typically performed on a cable machine, you can easily adapt it to do at home or while traveling by using a resistance band. 💪🏻

Sometimes even your trainer doesn’t listen to instructions 😅

A fun day working on something we really believe in. 🤍

Movement doesn’t only happen in the gym. It can happen right within our communities too.

Together with Playpoint, we’ve been working on something to help make exercise feel a little more accessible, approachable and relevant to everyday life — especially as we age.

Can’t wait to share more soon! 👀

Pain can change the way we move — and sometimes, the way we feel about moving at all.

When something hurts, our natural response may be to avoid it. But avoiding movement altogether isn’t always the answer, just as pushing through pain isn’t either.

Sometimes, we need to understand why a movement hurts, look beyond just where the pain is felt, and consider how the rest of the body is moving too.

From there, training can be modified — working on mobility where it’s needed, building stability and gradually restoring strength and capacity over time.

The goal isn’t to ignore pain. It’s to work with it intelligently, so movement can start to feel safe and achievable again.

Because ultimately, we’re not training our clients just to perform better inside the gym.
We want them to feel confident carrying their groceries. Getting up from the floor. Climbing the stairs. Playing with their children. Travelling. Exercising. And continuing to do the things they love.

Love working out, but not the whole… gym part? 😂

The crowds. The noise. The feeling that someone might be watching.

We get it.

At Cornerstone, training is a little quieter and a lot more personal.

Your own space.
Your own pace.
Just you and your trainer doing your thing. 🤍

Welcome to the introvert gym.
