standing exercises are occasionally incorporated into our routines to increase the intensity or difficulty of a workout. The addition of gravity will challenge you to engage and strengthen your legs. It will also work your glutes and mobilise your hips while building balance as you improve body awareness. ✌️

We occasionally incorporate the Reformer box in our exercises to add or aid in the movements! The additional height provided by the Reformer Box assists with optimal sitting positions, allowing for greater range of motion for the torso, arms and legs. It can also help facilitate a variety of exercises in seated or lying positions on the Reformer.

The Reformer Box is occasionally used in class to spice things up! It is a big box you can place on your reformer, the long or the short way to aid in your workouts!
You can lie down on your belly on the box and in this position, you will be able to move through many different exercises targeting the back muscles, glutes, hamstrings, shoulders and triceps. Pilates is about balanced muscle development. The addition of the box will help us strengthen our back body and stretch the front of our body.

The addition of a ball adds interest and challenge to your movements in class! It can help deepen awareness of different muscle groups and brings in a new element that your brain has to navigate, improving coordination. You can also use the ball to obtain deep, relaxing stretches for your muscles after a challenging workout.

standing work🧍♀️🧍
Occasionally we incorporate standing work on the reformer to work on our leg and hip muscles, improve balance and posture, and add variety to the workouts. Standing exercises can help build and strengthen our balance. In particular, exercises that works on weight transfers and add resistance can work our joints and improve overall stability. Focus on engaging the muscles of your feet and lower body, improving your fitness level from top to toe!
