As we move towards the Solstice, I’ve been reflecting on the idea of balance.
At this time of year, nature gives us one of her clearest teachings:
in one hemisphere, we move towards the longest day…
in the other, the longest night.
Light and dark are not evenly split.
They are not trying to be equal.
They are moving in relationship.
And perhaps that is the invitation.
Not to force ourselves into perfect balance — because life rarely arrives in neat halves — but to listen for harmony.
Harmony allows for ebb and flow.
For seasons of expansion and seasons of retreat.
For brightness, shadow, rest, growth, grief, joy, tenderness and becoming.
The Solstice reminds us that extremes are part of the cycle too.
The light does not apologise for shining long.
The dark does not apologise for holding us deep.
Both belong.
So maybe the question is not, “How do I stay balanced all the time?”
Maybe it is:
What season am I in right now?
What is life asking me to honour?
Where can I soften into harmony instead of striving for control?
As we approach this turning point in the wheel of the year, may we remember:
we are nature too.
And like nature, we are allowed to move in cycles.

A heart-led gathering to honour the still point of the sun, wherever you are in the world.
As Solstice approaches, we are invited into a sacred pause — whether you are entering the deep dreaming of Winter Solstice or the radiant fullness of Summer Solstice.
Come sit in circle with cacao, meditation, ritual, and heart connection as we honour this powerful turning point of the year.
Once you register, you will receive a Cacao Information Pack, which includes guidance on brewing cacao at home, as well as my recommended sources of cacao.
And if you do not have cacao, or are not comfortable brewing cacao, this ceremony is still for you. Feel free to bring your favourite beverage, and we can still call in the plant spirit of cacao together.
