Long before there was WINGS, there was Julia and her son, Jake.
Her journey as Jake's mum took her down a path she could never have anticipated; searching for answers, advocating for her child, celebrating every bit of progress and believing in his potential.
Eventually, that journey became something bigger than their own family.
It became WINGS. โค๏ธ
And through WINGS, we've had the privilege of crossing paths with so many mums whose own journeys with their children have inspired them to do extraordinary things.
A mum who turned the search for foods her son could eat into a grocery store helping other families.
A mum who turned her son's extraordinary medical journey into a book offering hope to others.
A mum who gave her son the opportunity to discover just how strong he could become.
A mum whose search for ways to support her daughter ultimately became a new mission supporting other families.
And a mum who crossed the world seeking opportunities for her daughter, then helped bring those opportunities to other children too.
Different mums. Different children. Different journeys.
But behind each story is something we know very well at WINGS: a mother's determination to create opportunities for her child can reach far beyond her own family.
So this year, for Julia's birthday, we're celebrating her story through the stories of some of the remarkable mums we've met along the way.
Because WINGS didn't begin with a business plan.
