TJC Concierge Physical Therapy has been a fantastic partner to the Sportrock community for over 2 years, and we could not be happier to have them supporting Beat the Heat once again.

Even better news: TJCCPT’s Emily (Horst) Privott | Climbing Physical Therapist is expanding her availability! In addition to her regular days at Sportrock Sterling, Dr. Emily is now bringing her services to our newest gym, Sportrock Lorton!

📍 Sterling | Mondays and Tuesdays
📍 Lorton | Wednesdays and Thursdays

Dr. Emily is also flexible and happy to accommodate your schedule, including weekends when needed. Her services include:

🩺 Free injury screens
🧗 1-hour physical therapy evaluations and treatments
💉 Dry needling
🎯 Climbing-specific rehabilitation and movement education

Beat the Heat 20 boulder reset schedule is here!

Starting Sunday, 8/2 routesetters will begin resetting all of Alexandria’s boulders section by section. Once a boulder section has been reset it will be closed until Beat the Heat.

Registration is open so lock in your spot before they sell out! Member registration is FREE! Not-yet-member is $95 to compete and $10 to spectate.

To get the walls ready, bouldering areas will close on a rolling basis and stay closed through Beat the Heat 20:

📅 Sunday, 8/2 | Entrance Wall, Top-Out, and Slab close at 8:30PM.
📅 Monday, 8/3 | Wave Wall and 10/20 close at 8:30PM.
📅 Tuesday, 8/4 | Bayside and Island close at 8:30PM.
📅 Wednesday, 8/5-Friday, 8/7 | All Sportrock Alexandria bouldering areas and the SRPI are closed.
📅 Saturday, 8/8 | Beat the Heat 20!

Is your young climber ready to take the next step? Bring them out to Youth Team Tryouts!

Whether your family is exploring our youth programs for the first time or your athlete is already climbing competitively, tryouts are the perfect chance to meet our coaches, explore our programs, and find the right fit for your climber.

Tryout registration is free and open to climbers ages 8 to 18 with prior climbing experience:

New to climbing or no team experience yet? We recommend starting with our Intro to Organized Youth Climbing (IOYC) program, an 8-week course that builds the foundational skills athletes need before advancing into our team pathway.

Intro to Organized Youth Climbing (IOYC) is not just your standard after-school program. Over 8 weeks, kids build real skills, learn independence while making lasting friendships, and fall in love with climbing, all with an experienced coach guiding every move.

✅ Ages 4 (varies by gym) to 13
✅ All levels, zero experience needed
✅ No membership required

If your kids end up loving it, they can advance into our progressive youth programming, but IOYC is where it all starts.

Beat the Heat 20 is Saturday, August 8th and registration is live!

It’s a big year for the community, so there is a lot to celebrate.

It all started in Zich’s garage; just a bunch of local climbers looking for a place to get strong and connect with other people on the same wavelength… some things never change!

This year is extra special, marked by some pretty mega milestones for Sportrock. Alexandria turns 30 years old and Sterling turns 25!

If you like a party, this one is for you. Expect a crowd, expect awesome climbing, free swag, crate stacking, and games for the whole family, and make sure to stay until finals to catch the best climbers in the region battle it out under the bright lights.

This event is totally free for members and the first 75 non-member competitors can register for $75, after that registration will go up to $95.

Climbing, games, and a whole day of fun are waiting for you at Sportrock Alexandria’s Sidewalk Sizzle on Saturday, July 18th from 12PM to 8PM! ☀️🧗

The Sidewalk Sizzle is a day of awesome fun built for new climbers, families, members, and anyone looking for a great way to spend the day. Here's what you'll have to enjoy:

🧗 Beginner-friendly climbing
📦 Crate stacking
👾Lawn games
🍔 Food from our grillout 3PM to 6PM
And more!

Entry is free for Sportrock members and just $15 for not-yet-members. Registration includes a day pass!

And the fun does not stop when the Sizzle wraps! Head over to the Sportrock Performance Institute for our final round of the Sportrock Climbing League, our team bouldering series. Teams will battle through one last general round before the top teams face off in Finals for a spot on the podium. Come hang out with the Sportrock community, and cheer on the competitors to close out the day.

After a string of unforgettable nights at Sportrock Rio, we are bringing Open Mic Night to Alexandria. Got a joke to tell, a song to sing, or a poem to read? This is your moment. Registration is only required for those who want to perform, so grab your spot on the lineup through the link in our bio.
