This is not about adding another app!

Whenever I talk to a club leader, the reflex is the same:

"We already have an app. We do not need another one."

I get it. Nobody wants more software. Nobody wants another login.

But this was NEVER about adding an app. It is about the one thing your bundled software was never built to do: make communication so easy that it actually happens, every day, from the staff you have empowered!

Listen to how Raymond Reyes, GM at Port Huron Golf Club, described the change:

"Our Food and Beverage Manager posts dinner specials on her phone. Our golf professionals promote merchandise, tournaments, and upcoming events as they happen. Communication has become part of the daily rhythm of operating the club instead of another task waiting to be completed."

That is not a feature. That is a culture shift.

The technology did not make his staff better communicators. It made communication easy enough that they finally do it more often.

This is ground zero of why a club exists: connection. Not a second app.

Not another line item. Connection.

Are your members hearing from your club every day, week, or every quarter?

Naming the difference: transactional vs. community

Let me draw a line that most club leaders feel but rarely name.

Transactional software answers ONE question for a member: "What do I owe and when is my tee time?"

Community software answers a different question entirely: "Do I know what is happening at my club, and do I feel part of it?"

Those are not the same product. They are not even the same goal.

Raymond Reyes, GM at Port Huron Golf Club, put it perfectly:

"Most mobile apps bundled with club management systems are designed around transactions... Members are not looking for another app. They simply want confidence that they know what is happening at their club."

Here is the chain he described, and it is the whole ballgame:

Information becomes involvement.
Involvement becomes engagement.
Engagement becomes a sense of belonging.

Your billing app was never designed to do that. It was not built to. That is not a knock on it. It is just a different job.

Ask yourself which job actually keeps members renewing.

Every club software package comes with an app.

Statements. Tee times. The calendar. A dining reservation. Useful stuff -Transactional stuff. Not for building and reinforcing community.

But here is what a 22-year veteran GM told me this month, and it stopped me cold:

"Clubster's real competition is not another app. It is member
disengagement."

That is Raymond Reyes, General Manager of Port Huron Golf Club.

Read it again. Your competition was never the other software. It is the member who slowly stops paying attention, stops showing up, and one day stops paying dues.

Every interaction a member has with your club either strengthens or weakens their sense of belonging. There is no neutral.

So the real question is not "do we have an app?" You already do.

The question is: is your club building belonging every week, or just
processing transactions?

If you are a GM, board member or association leader wrestling with member engagement and retention, I would love your take in the comments.

Many clubs today struggle with keeping members engaged, informed, and excited, especially when communication is spread across emails, texts, social media, and outdated tools. Tired of hearing “I never saw that email,” or “I get too many emails to read”? We solved that!

Here's the key thing: the apps bundled with club management software are transactional by design, built to process reservations, payments, and bookings, not to build a community. They're an extension of the back office. Clubster isn't competing with that, it solves a different problem entirely: engagement, retention, and guaranteed delivery to 100% of your members. Your staff makes the message once, a huge time savings!

Clubster gives your club a single, private, ad-free platform where you can instantly share:

• Events and reminders that actually get seen, so they fill

• Real-time food and drink photos and videos straight from the kitchen

• Pro shop merchandise, new arrivals, and specials

• Course updates like cart-path-only, closures, and weather

• Member news, wins, and the everyday moments that build community

And here's what makes it easy for you and your board: Clubster is the rare line on your budget that hands money back every month, NOT an expense! A lot of what it does isn't even new spend, it replaces the email service, the member app that only reaches some of your members, and the texting tool you're already paying for that reaches a limited few, and it gives back real staff hours that are already on your payroll. So, the cost base actually goes down while your communication gets dramatically better.

At roughly $3.30 a day, it's less than one drink at your own bar, a couple of range balls, or the cart towels that just disappear!

The price was never the real question. Here's the piece that keeps me up at night for clubs: members almost never tell you they're unhappy. They just stop showing up, and 18 months later you get the resignation you never saw coming. The number one reason is they stopped feeling connected to what's going on. That silent attrition is the real cost, and it's already on your books whether you fix it or not. Save one member and Clubster pays for itself for years.

I built you a quick calculator so you can plug in your own dues, extra food and drink covers, saved staff hours, and the tools you'd cancel, and watch your own SAVINGS number appear next to the $100 monthly spend for Clubster. I've also attached a note from a GM who joined us this year so you can hear it straight from a peer. Call or email Rob if you would like.

Take a look, run your club's numbers, and let's discuss. We have a free 30-day trial with no strings attached to prove it out as well!

The apps bundled with club management software are transactional by design — built to process reservations, payments, and bookings, not to build a community. They're an extension of the back office. Clubster isn't competing with that — it solves a different problem entirely: engagement, retention, and guaranteed delivery.

What Clubster does differently is reach 100% of your membership, through whichever channel each member prefers — push notification, text, or email — with a single message your staff creates once. Other platforms never reach everyone, so staff ends up sending the same thing two or three different ways to cover the gaps. That's wasted time, wasted money, and you're still not confident it landed.

The clubs that win the next decade will be the ones whose members feel genuinely connected — not just the ones who can book a tee time fastest. Attrition almost always starts with disconnection, not dissatisfaction. A member who feels informed, included, and part of a community doesn't leave. A member who only hears from the club at billing time is quietly at risk.

The question every GM, HOA, Association or Community Manager should be asking: "What percentage of our membership is truly engaged outside of their physical visits?" Not email open rates — real engagement. Clubster shows you that in the likes, comments, and views that capture the actual pulse of your membership, in real time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Great App for our Elks Lodge!!"
"This is a great app! Just what we needed for our Elks Lodge. The app is user friendly and has everything that we need. Unfortunately, we were left high-and-dry with another app developer going offline for the Elks. We are grateful that we found Clubster!! It has met (and exceeded) our expectations. Customer service is also second-to-none. Great company!"

The Engagement Story

Here's something nobody talks about in the club world. Most members don't leave because they're unhappy. They leave because they forget they belong.

When communication is inconsistent, spread over multiple channels, events are hard to find, and there's no easy way to connect with other members between meetings, people drift away quietly. No drama. Just silence.

The clubs that retain members year after year have one thing in common: they make it effortless to stay connected.

That's exactly what Clubster does. A private social network where members can see upcoming events, join conversations, browse the directory, and actually feel like part of something. Not once a month at a meeting, but every day.

Engagement isn't about doing more. It's about making it easier for your members to show up.
