What a night 🤍 Last Friday, our students and guests from across the community spent an evening with Skylar Brandt, Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre, for Raising the Barre: From Studio to Stage.

We watched her dance, heard about her path from student to professional, and listened as our dancers asked her the questions they’ll carry into the studio for years.

An evening like this takes generous partners, and we’re so grateful to ours. A massive thank you to:

Gatehouse Law and Josh Andrews, for sponsoring the evening and investing in the next generation of dancers
Ray Jordan and Flower Buds, for stunning florals
Spina Importing Co., for providing the w**e

Thank you also to the Alabama Ballet School Parent Guild for presenting Raising the Barre, and to Skylar for sharing her time, her artistry, and her story with everyone in the room.

Looking for a fun way to move and an incredible community to join? ✨

Alabama Ballet's Adult Tap is where beginners and lifelong dancers share a floor. No experience necessary — just a pair of tap shoes and a willingness to make some noise.

Classes meet throughout the week with a range of days and times, including a beginner level, so there's room in the schedule no matter what your week looks like.

And at the end of the year, there's an optional performance — a chance to invite your family and friends to see everything you've worked toward.

Ages 16 and up. Registration is open now and classes begin this Monday — link in bio for the full schedule and the sign-up form.
