🚌 SCHOOL'S BACK. CHANGE UP YOUR COMMUTE! 🚲

School is back in session, routines are changing, and your commute may look a little different than it did in summer.

If you're already driving for school drop-off or pickup, or driving to class, consider leaving the car parked once you've got the kids where they need to be β€” and bike the rest of the way to work or class.

Or, consider biking to school with the kids in tow! They can ride their bikes and join in or bring a cargo bike!

You don't have to bike every day. Start with one day a week. Join Rise & Ride Wednesdays and commute with other riders!

🚲 Meet: Wednesdays at 7:20 AM
πŸ“ U.S. 36 & McCaslin Park-n-Ride – North Side
🚴 Leave: 7:30 AM
πŸ“ Destinations: Boulder Community Hospital/CU East Campus and CU Main Campus/City offices/Downtown

🚲 THE BUFFALO BICYCLE CLASSIC IS THIS SUNDAY!

The Elevations Credit Union Buffalo Bicycle Classic rolls into Boulder on Sunday, September 13, with nine ride options for cyclists of different abilities β€” including the family-friendly 10-mile Little Buff.

And for riders on the Epic courses, there's a pretty special perk: Boulder Canyon will be closed to westbound vehicle traffic from 7–9 AM, giving riders a rare chance to enjoy the canyon without cars.

The Buffalo Bicycle Classic also supports scholarships for Colorado students attending CU Boulder. Since 2003, the event has raised more than $4.3 million and supported more than 450 scholars.

🚢🚲 WHO CAN USE BOULDER'S PATHS?

Confused about where you're supposed to ride? You're not alone.

Street? Bike lane? Sidewalk? Multi-use path?

Where you can ride depends on what you're riding and where you are.

🚲 For example: If you're riding a bicycle, you may be able to use the street, bike lane, multi-use path, or sidewalkβ€”but there are exceptions and designated dismount areas to be aware of.

Boulder's Way of the Path provides guidance to help you understand where bikes and other devices can goβ€”and how to share our paths with other people.

Not sure where you belong? Start here.

πŸ”§ SHOP UPDATE: A NEW WAY TO DIY

Community Cycles has made some changes to our DIY Shop to help members get the most out of their DIY time.

Know what you need to do, have the replacement parts, and are ready to work on your bike? You can reserve a DIY station and get to work using our tools and workspace.

Not sure what's wrong with your bike, what service it needs, or what parts and tools are required? Our new Assessment DIY sessions are a great place to start. During a 30-minute assessment, you can get help identifying the issue and figuring out the best way to approach your repair.

If you're new to DIY or aren't sure where to begin, an Assessment DIY session can help you get prepared.

This month we're highlighting Community Cycles member Jamie. Read her story and discover how becoming a member connects you to our cycling community while supporting our mission.

"On my month-long solo bike tours in rugged, remote places, I have to be able to fix my own bike. Thanks to the patient teachers in the Do-it-Yourself workshop, I can.

They show me how, then let me do it myself β€” no one takes over, which as a woman, I really appreciate. I may not be mechanically inclined, but with their help I’ve learned what I need.

And beyond the skills, I love how welcoming the shop feels. It’s simply a good place to be. Come hang out with us!"
