On a GLP-1? Or thinking about starting one? There are 2 things you can't afford to skip:

1️⃣Resistance training
2️⃣Eating enough protein

People are losing weight on these medications, yes...but a lot of them are also losing muscle without realizing it!

And that's a problem nobody's talking about enough. 😐

Muscle isn't just about looking fit.

It drives your metabolism, keeps you strong, gives you energy, and protects your body long-term.

Losing weight is one thing...

But losing weight and getting weaker, slower, and more worn down? That's not the win it looks like on the scale.

The goal is fat loss, not just weight loss. There's a BIG difference.

This is exactly why strength training and dialing in your nutrition matter so much while you're on these meds.

Your body needs a reason to hold onto muscle while it's in a deficit, and that reason has to come from how you train and eat.

Done right, a GLP-1 can be a powerful tool, but the structure around it is what turns short-term results into something that actually lasts!

If you want help putting that structure together: fitness, nutrition, and GLP-1 support all working together as one, DM us "GLP-1" 💙

Have a great day fam!

GLP-1s are one of the biggest topics in health and fitness right now… and unfortunately, there’s also a lot of confusion around them.🤔

Some people act like they’re a miracle solution. Others act like they’re dangerous no matter what. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

For the right person, GLP-1s can absolutely be a helpful tool for weight loss and improving health.

But they work best when they’re combined with the things that actually create long-term success: strength training, muscle preservation, better nutrition habits, consistency, and support.

That’s the part most people miss!

Losing weight is one thing. Keeping it off while feeling stronger, healthier, and more confident is another.

If you’re currently on a GLP-1, considering one, or just trying to better understand them, we hope this helps clear up some of the noise online.

And if you want guidance, accountability, and a real plan behind the process, send us a DM with “GLP-1”.

We’d love to support you on your journey 💙

Most people think building muscle and losing fat at the same time is impossible - It's not! 😌

It's just slower, smarter, and way less flashy than social media makes it seem.

💯The key is giving your body two signals at once: a reason to keep/build muscle, and a reason to use stored body fat for energy.

Resistance training is the first signal, but not from random workouts! Instead, your goal is to aim for progressive training where PERFORMANCE improves over time.

This means more reps with the same weight, more load with the same form, better ex*****on, shorter rest periods strategically used - you know, the less "sexy" stuff.

Your body builds muscle when it has to adapt to demand, not when you simply “exercise.”

Research consistently shows resistance training is the anchor for gaining lean mass and preserving muscle during fat loss phases. It MUST be used!

Nutrition is where most people miss the train though...

If calories are too low, performance drops and muscle gain stalls. But if calories are too high, fat loss stalls. So what should you do?

The sweet spot is usually a small deficit or around maintenance, paired with high protein intake. THIS IS KEY!🔑

Protein isn’t just for muscle growth, but it also helps preserve lean tissue and improves fullness.

Evidence suggests around 1g/lb of lean body mass per day is a strong target for both goals.✅️

Also, put a good portion of your carbs before and after training so you perform better, recover faster, and keep training quality high while leaning out.

People obsess over calories but ignore workout fuel. Remember, if your workouts start to suffer (lack of energy), you have a problem!

Also take note of this: the scale may barely move during this process.

That doesn’t mean nothing is happening. If strength is climbing, waist is tightening, and clothes fit better, you’re likely recomping well.

Final note: this muscle gain/fat loss process works fastest for beginners, so if you're advanced, you can still do it, but the margin for error gets smaller. Just stick with it! 💪🏼

GLP-1 medications can be a powerful tool for weight loss - I think we all know that by now!

BUT weight loss alone doesn’t always equal true transformation.

The real goal should be improving your health, preserving muscle, building strength, creating better habits, and achieving results that actually last.

I mean, when's the last time a "quick fix" was actually worth it long term?
..my point EXACTLY.

Medication may help start the process… but lifestyle determines the outcome!

If you’re using a GLP-1s, make sure you’re building the habits to support long-term success.

If you'd like help on how to do it the right way, shoot us a DM or comment below! 💪🏼😊

Two of our longest-standing clients showed up today wearing the same shirt 💪🏼😅

What makes this picture even better is that both Bonnie and Pat have been training with us at Just You Fitness for the past 10 years.

Our brand has grown a lot over that time, but more importantly, so have they.

Bonnie has lost an extreme amount of body fat, kept it off, and continues to get stronger year after year...

Pat has built impressive muscle and strength, and even stepped on stage for a fitness show in 2025...

Stories like these are what Just You Fitness is all about!

We’re grateful for clients like Bonnie and Pat who have trusted us through the years and continue to inspire everyone around them.

Here’s to the next 10 years of health, strength, and success! 🙌🏼

Most people wake up and head straight to the gym already behind on hydration.

If you train first thing in the morning, water alone usually isn’t enough!

Your body also needs minerals and electrolytes to actually pull that water into the cells where it can be used.

A little intention here can make a big difference in your energy, pumps, performance, and recovery.

Make sure to hydrate up fam!

After you train, your body is in a really good position to recover and rebuild, but that only happens if you actually give it what it needs!

Just start simple: get some protein in. That’s what drives muscle repair and growth.

Somewhere around 20–30g is a solid range for most people, and it doesn’t have to be complicated either: a shake, whole food protein source, or even Greek yogurt gets the job done.

Carbs matter here too, especially if you’re training with any real intensity. (Don't leave them out)

Try using dates, honey, fruit, rice, potatoes...the more simple the better, nothing fancy.

👌🏼Fun fact: faster-digesting carb options just make it easier for your body to use them right away, so make sure to stay away from slow digesting carbs like brown rice, yams or oatmeal at this time (important)!

Then later, within a couple hours, make sure to sit down and have a REAL meal.

This means a good mixture of protein, carbs, and some healthy fats.

This meal is where you continue the recovery process and actually set yourself up for your next workout.

Most people either ignore this or overthink it, but it’s really just about giving your body the basics, consistently.

No go optimize your post workout nutrition! 🙌🏼😎

Peptides are getting a lot of attention in the health and fitness space right now.

At their core, they’re just signaling molecules, helping the body carry out specific functions more efficiently.

Different peptides serve different purposes, from recovery and muscle growth to fat loss and overall performance.

Like anything else, they work best when the fundamentals are already in place.

And that's our speciality 💪🏼😎

Time to put in the work!

We're 3 months into 2026, how are those fitness goals looking?

If you haven't succeeded as much as you thought, don't worry, you aren't alone!

Most people put in the effort, but they lack one major thing: CLARITY.

If your goals only exist in your head, they’re easy to forget, easy to push off, and easy to ignore.

Writing them down is 🔑!

It forces you to get specific and turns a vague idea like “get in shape” into something real and measurable.

It also gives you something to come back to on the days you don’t feel motivated, which happens to all of us.

And when your goals are visible every day, they stay top of mind, which makes your decisions a whole lot easier.😎

In fact, the 2nd picture above shows some actual written goals from one of our clients. She's practicing the exact method mentioned here.

She did the same thing in 2025 and reached 80% of all the goals listed.

Is 80% bad just because she didn't hit all of them?

OF COURSE NOT!

Remember the old saying: "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

Point being: you don't have to be perfect. Just show up and take action TODAY.

Write your goals down. Make sure you can see them every single day.

Only then will "dreams" turn into actual goals

Go dominate the next 9 months fam!

Here's a trick you can use for ANY muscle group! It's called the PSPS method, which stands for:

✅️PUMP

✅️SHORTEN

✅️POWER

✅️STRETCH

1. Pump - the goal of the first movement (warm up) is to get a bunch of blood flow into the working muscle that you're targeting. Today, that's the back, specifically the Lats. Aim for high reps on these pulldowns going through a full range of motion.

2. Shorten - We then want to place the working muscle in its shortened (contracted) position, because it's weak there. Doing a T-bar row allows us to keep the elbows tight to the body so the lats become fully shortened. (It should be difficult!)

3. Power - Before you get too tired, we want to maximize your strength with a heavier, compound movement like the Hex Bar Deadlift. Aim for 6-10 reps here with great form.

4. Stretch - Once the targeted muscle is nearing its potential, we now want to "stretch" it using a full range of motion. This ensures great mobility long term + takes your muscle to complete fatigue (the goal).

This method can vary quite a bit depending on your total fitness goal, but it's a nice change of pace if you're looking for a new technique to try!

If you’re going through menopause and thinking about starting to work out… you’re not alone.

A lot of women feel unsure where to start, or worry that their body just won’t respond the way it used to.

But the truth is, this is actually one of the most important times to start taking strength training seriously!

You don’t need to go all in right away.

You don’t need to be perfect.

You just need to start.

Focus on learning how to move well, getting a little stronger each week, and building consistency.

And of course we're here to help! Shoot us a DM to book a free consultation 💪🏼😎

It never hurt to start the kids young!

In fact, the earlier kids are exposed to movement, the more natural it becomes for them later in life.

It’s not about structured workouts or anything intense...it’s about making exercise feel normal, fun, and just part of what they do.

There’s actually research to back this up as well!

A study published in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health found that kids who develop active habits early are far more likely to stay active into adolescence and adulthood.

In other words, what they see and experience now sticks.

That’s why moments like this matter more than people realize.

When kids grow up seeing their parents train, take care of their health, and enjoy the process, it shapes how they view fitness for the rest of their life.

It becomes less about “having to work out” and more about just living well.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be consistent.

And who knows… this might be the start of something pretty special 😊
