Not sure how to support your child in overcoming a fear? Checkout these tips from Coach Kaki on how we help kids at Ninja Gym!

1. Normalize the Fear: being afraid is not a bad thing! It's our body telling us something. It's how we handle that fear that helps us to overcome it. Let your little one know "It's okay to be nervous, it's okay to be afraid", then... help them to:
2. Reframe the Fear: instead of seeing the scariest part of what is making them nervous, help them see the positive, however small! Instead of "the warped wall is SO high", try "you get to run as fast as you can!", then, help your child:
3. Break the fear into small steps: if your child has small milestones to work towards instead of one BIG thing, it becomes less scary and manageable.
4. Lead by example: When your child sees you doing hard things, and voicing that to them "Mommy is nervous to try X, but she is going to do it any way and practice being brave" it sets a positive example and let's them know that in your family, there is space to be nervous, and space to grow in overcoming fear.

How do you help your child overcome fears? We'd love to hear below!
