Using hurdles while attacking a volleyball from different angles builds more than just quick feetāit creates game speed movement, better body control, stronger reaction time, and more explosive hitters.
Volleyball isnāt played standing still. You have to move, adjust, react, and still deliver under pressure.
Training footwork with hitting teaches athletes how to stay balanced, attack from multiple angles, and stay explosive in real game situations.

Explosive volleyball players arenāt built with just squats and lunges ā theyāre built with intentional power work.
Single-leg pogo hop variations build the stiffness and elasticity in your ankles, knees, and hips that you need to be reactive off the floor. Every block jump, every quick outside approach, every emergency change of direction starts with how well you can absorb and re-produce force on one leg. Thatās game speed.
Broad jump ā”ļø straight into your approach at the net ā”ļø finish with a box jump teaches:
