Lady Matthews
As the season ends, we thank all of you for making it an amazing one. To celebrate the fact that (most) boats are out of the water, we would like to share with you a 99 year old wooden boat.

The Lady Matthews is a 1927, 38 foot Matthews owned by Kevin Hard. His Great- Great Grandfather, an architect here in Duluth, purchased a Matthews in 1928, and Kevin has been passively looking for a model to restore and connect to his family history. The Lady Matthews fell into Kevin’s lap this year, and we are grateful he chose Spirit Lake Marina to house his boat for the winter. We wish him great luck on his restoration, and can’t wait to see the progress he makes.

We appreciate all of our customers and clients here at Spirit Lake marina and our crew hope you have a great winter. We can’t wait to see you next year!

Meet Brody. Brody is the proud master of Tammy. Brody enjoys long walks on our beautiful trail systems, and going to the dog park to make friends. Brody is all about the toys and will love you forever if you're willing to play. Next time you see him on the trail be sure to say hello!

Meet Coco.
Coco is the owner of boss man Charlie, the boss of the boss if you will. Coco’s favorite pastime is chasing coiled twist ties. She should have been a soccer goalie, as she loves when her person tosses fuzzy balls over her head for her to skillfully knock out of the air. She always brings them back for another toss. Coco’s most playful time of day is just before her humans go to bed. Don’t worry, she makes sure those humans change up their schedule to appease the demands of her fitness training. Coco wants everyone to know that she will accept donations of twist ties.

Introducing Lieutenant Dan!
Lieutenant Dan, or Dan as he is often referred to around the marina, lives with the human he owns, Pete, but is often seen around the marina. Dan adopted Pete this last winter, and now owns Pete’s home. He had his human fix up a sailboat this summer, and is hoping Pete will bring him out there soon. When not supervising Pete’s progress on his boat, Dan supervises the back shop eagerly watching marina staff hard at work. He prefers not to enter the shop himself when it is busy, but is looking forward to doing some winter hunting around the premises. Lieutenant Dan is a valuable part of the team here at Spirit Lake Marina, and we look forward to working with him for many seasons to come.

Introducing the newest members of the Spirit Lake Marina family, Gregg and Rosie.
Gregg and Rosie spent their first night with newly minted pet owner, Will, on the family sailboat. While Gregg took to the experience quickly, jumping the lifeline and into the cockpit before he could be unleashed, It took Rosie, the lil one, about 10 minutes to navigate the treachery that is boarding a boat. They are now able to sleep through the night on the rocky seas of the sheltered marina, and are ready for a life on the big lake someday.

Arnold is one weird dude. This football head is often far too busy to enjoy pets and snuggles, as he is an on the go pup with personal space issues. He is all about the adventure, and when he is not out paddleboarding, his favorite activity, he makes his person, Jess, tow him behind her bike on camping trips. Bring him a toy, and he will love you forever!

Hurley is well known here in the marina. Once he knows you, he will always be excited to see you, and making the humans in his life feel loved is what he does best. You may have seen him longboarding with his person, Ron, on the Munger trail, or playing fetch in the yard on the way into the marina. Next time you see him out and about be sure to say hello. Doing so will create a lifelong friendship you're sure to cherish.

🎣 A little shore fishing, a lot of local talent!

Dan Wolfe is joined by local photographer and artist Tim Mlodozyniec for a new episode of *Fishin’ With Dan Wolfe*.

Tim was recently voted Best Artist in the Duluth News Tribune’s Best of the Best, and his photography has been featured in *National Geographic* and on national television!

From his photography career to his “Channel 6 fame,” Dan and Tim dive into Tim’s story and more in this week’s episode.

Yesterday's post featuring a picture of a staffers pup got all the other marina pets jealous. Because of this we will be highlighting a fur baby each day.

Moni is considered the marinas own "river rat" due to literally being found in the water at Spirit Lake Marina. This sad beginning turned into a happy ending by a match made in heaven with his now mom Molly. Moni enjoys going to work with Molly where he judges the humans he meets, and manages Molly's work day. In this photo he is pictured displaying the confidence of a northern breed as he hikes along the DWP near Elys Peak. Please take special notice of his adorable booties.
