We came, we sweat, we conquered!

Really great class last night to kick off our new high energy Tuesday class! Thanks to everybody that came, we're excited to see this class grow!! 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

The vast majority of defensive movements your opponent will make are quite predictable. As you gain increasing physical and tactical control over an opponent one of the first effects is a reduction in the movement options your opponent has. The remaining choices are usually quite easy to foresee. There are only so many rational choices given the conditions you’re both operating under. Learning to see the patterns these movements and choices create and the to make decisions into action prior to the completion of these patterns is a huge part of success in the game. Everybody looks and sees - very few look and predict - but that’s one of the great keys to success. Whenever you watch Jiu Jitsu - Make an exercise of trying to predict the action rather than merely observe it. This will greatly benefit your development

Just having a clear idea of your objectives can make you act decisively and successfully even when you’re unsure of how or what exactly to apply in terms of moves. The only time you ever really run out of ideas and sink into a hole is when you don’t even know which direction to go. Jiu Jitsu is no exception. If you have an idea of where you want to go, you can always improvise a means to get there; but if you lack even a sense of where to go, you won’t even take a first step. Sometimes the game seems so complex - but the directional aspect of the game - where you want to go next - is incredibly simple. Know that and you always be able to figure out a next step

We had a great seminar at Shoshin with Tony Rinaldi and special guest Korey Kilburn this past Saturday!

We're looking forward to hopefully some collaboration with Korey in the future since he's just down the road in Edinboro, so keep your 👀s open for that!

Also, we had some people get stripe promotions, and a couple of Tony's guys also got stripes, so it was fun all around!
