The speed with which an adjustment can help a constipated, fussy baby have a bowel movement and turn into a new kid still surprises me after 15 years 😂
While I'm still waiting for a total blow out on the table (okay, maybe not really) one of my favorite stories from recently was during our family 4th of July trip to Eagle AK. Our big kids are old enough to have friends with babies, so we had a 13 month old in the mix.
A fussy, constipated 13 month old. I offered to adjust him. Mom and Dad accepted. An hour and a half later he had p**ped four times and was a completely different baby.
If you know a family with a little one struggling with consistent, pain free bowel movements send them my way. They are literally one of my favorite kiddos to see in my office 💞
And yes, I will happily talk about p**p all day long! 😉

If you've followed Life Sprout for a while, you may have noticed something shifting.
For years, my focus was women's wellness. And that work mattered. But something kept pulling me back to where it all started — to the reason I became a chiropractor in the first place.
I was that kid.
Headaches every single day. Asthma. Allergies no one could fully explain. My mom took me to every doctor she could find. I was prodded and poked. Given inhalers and medications with the message I’d probably need them forever. Nothing resolved it.
At 12, I sat across from yet another provider and asked the question parents hate: “But why? What happened to me?" No one had an answer.
When I was 20, a chiropractor finally did.
Three months into care, I went for a run and forgot my inhaler. I have run marathons, played in competitive soccer games, gone hiking and cross country skiing without ever using one again. I stopped needing allergy medications and shots. My daily beaches went away.
I stopped missing classes and started thriving as a student and athlete in a way I never had before.
And that 12-year-old who asked “but why” is in the room with me every time a parent sits across from me in my office looking for answers for their own kids.
And as much as I love the mom’s who come to see me, the kids are why Life Sprout exists.
This page is shifting to reflect that. We're here for kids. For families. For the parents who know something is wrong and haven't found the right answer yet.
If you’ve been looking, you’re in the right place.

In 2004 I was a broke college student desperately searching for answers to a whole slew of health problems.
Starting when I was 12, I became that kid.
👉 Used an inhaler before every run, practice, or game
👉 Allergic to everything under the sun
👉 Missed 45 days of school some years from being sick
👉 Daily headaches and way too many painkillers
👉 Sinus infections and allergy flare-ups that never seemed to end
👉 Multiple medications, weekly allergy shots, and no real hope in sight
👉 Prodded and poked at every doctor’s visit — but never any real answers
By sophomore year of college I was struggling to stay well enough to make it to class. I was in danger of failing. I just wanted to feel well again.
Then a classmate overheard me having a breakdown and said something that changed everything:
“I don’t really understand it, but I’ve been going to the chiropractor right off campus and I just feel better. You should go.”
Feeling desperate, I went.
From the minute I walked through the door I knew I’d found something different. I started getting adjusted. I cleaned up my diet. I kept going. And I started feeling better.
🌱 I wasn’t sick as often
🌱 I stopped missing class
🌱 I stopped getting allergy shots — the hayfever disappeared
🌱 I got a headache one day and realized I hadn’t had one in weeks
🌱 One day I forgot my inhaler before a run — and haven’t used one since.
I went on to run the Atlanta ING marathon. Without an inhaler. Something 12-year-old me couldn’t have imagined.
I didn’t outgrow my diagnoses. My body finally got the support it needed to do its job.
I became a chiropractor because of that story. But here’s the part I haven’t said enough:
I think about that 12-year-old version of me constantly. Especially as I’ve watched my own son (pictured below, born in 2013) grow up navigating the toxic and stressful world we live in.
The kid who spent years being managed instead of helped. Who missed school, sat out of games, and just wanted to feel normal. And I wonder how different things might have looked if someone had found the root of it sooner.
That’s exactly who I built Life Sprout Collective for.
The kids in Fairbanks who are that kid right now. The ones getting sick over and over. The ones dealing with anxiety, headaches, focus challenges, or emotions that feel too big for their bodies. The ones whose parents have been told to wait it out or try another medication.
There’s another option. And it exists right here.
If your child is somewhere on that journey — or if you are — I’d love to have a conversation. I offer a free consultation where we connect, talk through what’s going on, and decide together if Life Sprout is the right fit.
