Coming this weekend! The Race Into Summer Block Party is happening this Saturday, May 9th, at the Madeira School. We are so excited for this super fun meet that’ll give our young swimmers an opportunity to knock some best times out of the park before we send everyone off to summer swim!
We’re gonna take this opportunity here to remind everyone of some facility rules (which you can also find via email) so we can keep everyone safe and happy!
1) As you enter the Madeira School, you will come up to a security gate. Tell the person at the gate you are there for Machine Aquatics. As you pass through the gate, there will be a parking lot on the right. You can either park here or in front of the building. The pool will be the first building on the left past the tennis courts. To drop off your swimmer, you can swing around the back of the building so they can enter through the back door. Please do not leave your car blocking the roundabout. Swimmers will enter and exit the building only through the locker rooms. No parents are allowed on deck except those volunteering.
2) Swimmers will need to take their shoes off before entering the pool deck. They can either leave them in the locker room or take them off and put them in their bags before entering the pool deck.
3) There is no food allowed on the pool deck. Please make sure your swimmers are fed and ready prior to arriving.
With that being said, let’s have some fun this weekend! You can find the timeline and heat sheets linked in the email sent out by Paris earlier this week.

It’s May! Which also means it’s also National Water Safety Month! We wanted to highlight this month’s issue of Vienna Living, which featured our very own Paris Jacobs 🥳 She discusses all things Machine and the importance of drowning prevention! Check it out in our bio in addition to National Water Safety Month .org to make your pledge as a safe swimmer and find all kinds of prevention resources!
Dynamic Warm up is so so so important to keep your body happy and healthy while training! Making sure you hit the right movements to ensure your muscles and joints are set up for success is of utmost importance. We’ve been focusing on getting the ankles, hips, and thoracic spine mobile before hopping in the water as well as connecting our upper and lower body, making sure everything is in sync and working efficiently. Here are some of the movements we do to make sure that happens!
* Calf stretch with knee drivers
* Worlds Greatest Stretch + uni balance knee hug
* Groin Rockers
* Lateral Lunge —> Figure 4
* Toe Touch —> Deep Squat (squatty potty) w rotations
* Walkout/Inchworm —> Pushup
* Wrist Flexor + Extensor Stretch
* Shoulder “dislocations” / CARS
* Jump rope
