Minuteman Monday! Staff Sgt. Ayden De La Cruz is a 3E7X1, firefighter, assigned to the 188th Wing at Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith. He said the Air National Guard helped light a fire that has his career burning as bright as ever. He was working in the food industry, but he wanted a clear career path to couple with his strong desire to serve his country. He recently reenlisted because of the unique experiences military service has offered him.

“I utilized the Air Force’s education benefits to fund my Emergency Medical Technician certification and complete general education classes,” he said. “My service has allowed me to explore the world through out of state training, international training exercises, and a deployment to [the United Arab Emirates.]

2. One of the most basic ways to for an emergency is cultivating the right skills.

🌲 CALLING ALL ARKANSAS STUDENTS! ✍️

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has launched the My Natural State Story contest, encouraging students to get outdoors and share their Arkansas adventures.

Students ages 10 through 17 may submit essays of up to 500 words about hunting, fishing, boating or paddling, climbing, cycling, camping or hiking.

Entries must be submitted by Monday, October 12. Essays containing AI-generated text will be automatically disqualified.

A total of 16 students will receive outdoor prizes and invitations to a special dinner at the Governor’s Mansion.

Prizes include lifetime hunting and fishing licenses, outdoor equipment, park stays, guided adventures, a mountain bike and additional experience packages.
