J.J. Hughes had a great run at Tri-State Speedway over the weekend. He moved from 9th place to 3rd place, earning him a podium finish and the night's Hard Charger Award!

Not many teams can perform major surgery on their racecar during practice, and then come back and win the race!
Fixed it.
Winners on the Race of Champions sportsman series! We took the long road today though. Lost oil pressure in warmups and had the pan off until just before the race trying to diagnose and fix stuff. Then went 21st to 1st and won, mostly by just missing crashes. It was a tough night in that regard.
When we lost oil pressure there was never one thought expressed about packing it up. That’s why I love my team. We pulled the pan. Took the oil pump apart. Re lined all the oil pressure plumbing and honestly I’m not sure what even fixed the problem. My two guesses are the oil filer collapsed or trap/baffle is messed up in the pan. It dropped oil pressure when I drove off the track and again after we fixed it for a moment, so something funky is going on. We also had a power steering issue where the power steering was coming and going constantly that we think was due to the balancer falling off and letting the belt jump.
Needless to say. Wasn’t a clean day. But we stayed out of trouble. Mostly. My team never gives up. Thank you Ricky Jake Mark Sue Sean and Thomas along with everyone else that helped out.
The Steve nose is currently 4-0. I don’t know that we even won that many sportsman features all season last year, or maybe it was four. Credit to my team. It’s never boring.
