🏁BAHAMA BRACKETS 2026 – RACE RECAP 🏁
Grundy County Speedway
What a weekend! It was a challenging end to the 2026 season, but we showed we had a car capable of running up front! 💪🏁
Friday – Practice
Rain came and went throughout the evening, so we spent the time working on the car and getting it ready for the weekend. We discovered a leaking radiator and had some bodywork to take care of from our previous night of racing.
Saturday – Qualifying & Heat Race
We ran a 16.49 on our first qualifying lap, then dropped to a 16.30 on our second lap, breaking out of the 16.4-second bracket. That meant we had to requalify during Happy Hour. We came back with a 16.44, earning the 6th qualifying spot!
We started 6th in the heat race but got stuck behind traffic and finished 5th.
Sunday – Feature Race
Sunday brought the feature, and we worked our way all the way up to 1st place! Unfortunately, we got caught up in a lapped-traffic wreck that smashed our right-side door and tore off the exhaust tip.
After the caution, we managed to lead a few more laps before the car started losing power. When Landon pulled in we thought it might have blown the engine, but thankfully, it turned out to be a broken header instead!
We definitely have some work ahead of us over the offseason, but we'll regroup, get the car repaired, and come back stronger and better prepared for 2027! 💪
A huge thank-you to everyone who supports KMH Racing and helps make this journey possible. We appreciate every one of you!
Thank you to Grundy County Speedway for hosting the Bahama Brackets!
🏁 We'll see you all in 2027!
