NFC Coach Rankings!
Three stars: kind of obvious. Two Super Bowl champions, Five total appearances recently. The reigning champ for what that’s worth. Best division in Football. Sean and Shanahan are elite game planners and play callers. Shano has not always had elite or top ten QB’s but still gets it done offensively. Macdonald is an elite defensive play caller and game planner. Literally shut down the 49ers offense twice.
Two Stars: some great play callers and culture builders. Knee cap Dan is here because he turned around a literal dumpster fire of a team and he also believed in Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn. His biggest knock will be, can he really develop the offense? He can coach and build guys up but his play calling isn’t great. John Harbs is kind of the same, he’s won a ring but that was years ago and that team had one of the best defenses of all time. He doesn’t call plays for any side! He can coach for sure but he is basically a rah rah coach. Johnson and O’Connell are amazing play callers, building up offenses and taking quarterbacks to the next level. Ben is higher because he has a sweet run game. O’Connell is sometimes allergic to running.
One Star: Matt LeFleur, cmon man. He was on track to be a great coach. I’m maybe a little tough on him but he’s made plenty of play calling and game management errors and he has really hasn’t accomplished much since Aaron left. Past three seasons: seventh seed, one playoff win. Sirianni gets loads of crap and everyone thinks he’s stupid. I think he’s immature but I think he’s a fine coach. I’m well documented that Philly’s offense is a Hurts issue. He’s got a ring, I couldn’t not rank him. Schotty, honestly super impressive. Most commentators thought the cowboys would be a disaster and they would have a top 5 pick, they weren’t great obviously but that was mainly a defensive issue. He really rallied the team and the offense.
Unranked: all of these coaches were either one hit wonders, rookies or unproven. Quinn is probably the best coach in this list but the defense took a major step back and I think he’s already on the hot seat. If the commies don’t start off well, he could get fired by mid season or more likely at the end of the year. Kellen Moore was impressive in his first year with a rookie quarterback. Tough spot for Mike LeFleur, probably top 3 pick incoming. Hang in there Cards fans (if you exist)
