Congratulations to (left to right) James Ribecky, Charlotte Ribecky, and Brian Li for qualifying for the Heartland Racing Series at last week’s Great Lakes Championships!
These fast skaters will now be eligible to compete in the HRS, which brings together some of the best club skaters in the country for a season long series of incredible short track racing! Qualifying for the series is hard work, and a big step for these seriously fast skaters. Way to go!

After months of planning, and one incredible weekend of racing, The 2025 Great Lakes Championships have come to a close! THANK YOU to all of our officials and volunteers who donate so much of their time and efforts in executing the best meet possible. As always, The Pettit National Ice Center provided us with world-class facilities, and are an amazing partner in hosting all of our events.
All of our participating clubs raced well, showed fantastic sportsmanship, and made this meet so very special and a tradition that the Wisconsin Speed Skating Club is proud to carry forward into the future! See you all next year for the 2026 Great Lakes Championships!
