Week 1 is in the books, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start.

A big part of this first week was setting baselines. Where are they right now? How do they move? How strong are they? How fast are they?

Because we’re going to train it, build it, and then test it again.

And there’s something really powerful about being able to show a kid, with actual numbers, how much work works.

You jumped on something you couldn’t jump on before.
You ran a time you didn’t think you could run.
You picked up a weight that seemed impossibly heavy a few months ago.

Do that enough times and something starts to change. Hard things stop being something you avoid and start becoming something you seek out—because you know how good it feels to find out you can do them.

That’s the kind of confidence we’re after.

And there really couldn’t be a better time to start. New school year. New training season. Everyone starting together, with a baseline we get to build from.

Week 1 complete. Now we get to work.

A special place filled with special people. No other place we'd want to be. Thank you to all our members for being a bright light in our gym and our community.

We build a community to serve our community, and our ripples travel far.

Deadlifts + Bench Press.

Two of their favorite days in the gym.

And two movements we really want them to learn the right way.

Because getting young athletes stronger isn’t just about giving them weights and telling them what to do.

It’s teaching them how to move. Why technique matters. When to add weight—and when not to. And giving them enough individual coaching that good movement becomes the habit.

Yesterday was a big class. A lot of athletes. A lot of energy. And a whole lot of coaching.

That’s exactly what we want.

We’re not just giving kids a workout after school.

We’re teaching them how to train.

Week 1. Day 1.

Front Squats.
Strict Press.
And a whole lot of running.

After a summer away from structured training, they were definitely feeling Day 1.

But the workout is only part of what we do here.

Every COMPTRAIN Youth class ends with a conversation around our 5 Factors of Health:

TRAIN. EAT. SLEEP. THINK. CONNECT.

This week, we’re starting with the foundation—what each factor means, why they all matter, and how the choices they make outside the gym impact who they become inside it.

We’ll train hard. We’ll get stronger. We’ll get faster.

But we’re also teaching kids how to take care of themselves, build better habits, and understand that health is bigger than a workout.

We do this in every class.

Because we’re not just filling the hours after school.

We’re developing healthy, capable young athletes.

Day 1 sets the baseline. Now we build.

Straight from school. Train. Done by 5.

Middle school is often when kids start exploring weights, workouts and the gym on their own. We believe it's the perfect time to teach them how to move well, train properly and build a foundation they can carry with them for years.

75 minutes of coached strength & conditioning. Then the rest of the night is theirs.

COMPTRAIN Youth starts September 8.

Registration is open. Link in bio.

Huge congratulations to our September Member of the Month, Kristin Burnham! Here is what her coach, Emily, had to say!

"Kristin is the definition of strong! She is strong under a barbell and strong in life. 😊 She shows up with a smile, brings a great attitude, and has built incredible consistency in and out of the gym. She’s made huge strides in her fitness, built back to some seriously strong numbers, and is setting an awesome example for her two young kids! We are so lucky to have someone like Kristin!"

Thank you for being such an amazing part of our community!

They’re ready to start training. Make sure they learn how to do it right.

As kids get serious about their sports, they naturally start wanting to get stronger. They want to lift weights. They want to train. They want to do what they see older athletes doing.

And for a lot of parents, that comes with a very reasonable question:
Who is teaching them how to do it safely and correctly?

These are formative years for young athletes. The movement patterns they learn now can become the foundation they build on for years to come.

At COMPTRAIN Youth, we teach athletes how to move well first—then build strength, speed, power, and athleticism on top of that foundation.

It’s high-level, intentionally programmed strength & conditioning for young athletes, with coaches who understand that how they learn to train matters just as much as how hard they train.

And it’s available right here in Natick.

Your kid trains their sport. We train the athlete.

COMPTRAIN Youth builds the foundation underneath whatever they love to do—strength, athleticism, confidence, resilience, and healthy habits that extend far beyond the gym.

And because health is about more than training, we teach kids to take ownership of all 5 Factors of Health:

TRAIN. EAT. SLEEP. THINK. CONNECT.

The goal? Stronger, healthier, more capable kids—in sport and in life.

**Fall begins September 8, and registration is officially OPEN.**

Classes run Monday–Thursday in 75-minute blocks, and families can choose 1–4 training days per week.

Classes are capped at 18 athletes, so register early to lock in the days and times that work best for your family.

One of the hardest parts about being a middle schooler?

You’re trying to figure out who you are…
while also desperately trying not to stand out.

And unfortunately, many of the things that actually create long-term health ARE counter-cultural right now.

Going to bed early.
Getting 10 hours of sleep.
Eating real food.
Training consistently.
Getting outside.
Choosing friends intentionally.
Doing internal work like breath work, recovery work, learning your triggers, and becoming more self-aware.

To a middle school or high school kid?
That can feel “weird.”

Which is why this message from a COMPTRAIN Youth parent meant so much to us.

“I was nervous that COMPTRAIN would be a super competitive atmosphere, but instead I have really noticed the positivity and general good vibes of the program. He is devoted to his classes and sad when he has to miss them!! I really feel for him it's about the joy of moving your body without feeling like you are not good enough at something or as good as everybody else. Wherever you are is ok for you and you work on your own goals.”

Honestly…this is exactly what we hope kids feel when they walk through our doors.

Yes, we want them to get stronger.
Faster.
More athletic.
More capable.

But more than anything?

We want them to feel supported while becoming the kind of person who can thrive in a world that often pushes the opposite direction.

Because this stage of life is formative.
The habits.
The self-talk.
The confidence.
The standards.
The crew they surround themselves with.

It all matters.

And sometimes the strongest thing a kid can do is learn how to confidently choose a different path than the crowd around them.

We’re really proud of the culture inside these walls.
And deeply grateful for parents who trust us with their kids during such an important stage of life.
