Over the years I've noticed two forms of self-sabotage that keep people stuck in the lose-weight-regain-weight cycle.
The interesting part?
Both groups think they're doing the right things.
One person gives themselves almost no grace.
The other gives themselves way too much.
And both usually end up frustrated because they keep finding themselves back at square one.
In my newest video, I break down both types of self-sabotage, how to identify which one you are, and what to do about it.

I help food-loving Christians lose the weight & actually keep it off. Permanent transformation. Not another temporary makeover. Not another diet. JoyfullyFit 365.
Not another challenge. A system built to last.
Don't underestimate how much poor sleep affects your hunger, cravings, recovery, and fat loss.
It can lower your resting metabolic rate by up to 20%, leading to more inflammation, imbalanced hormones, higher stress, and ultimately, less fat loss and muscle building.
Most people spend an incredible amount of time worrying about meal timing, supplements, special diets, and all the little details.
Meanwhile, they haven't consistently nailed the things that actually drive results.
Calories.
Protein.
Fiber.
Get those three right first.
Worry about the tiny details later.
Keep the main things the main things. ๐ช

Most people spend an incredible amount of time worrying about things that barely move the needle.
Supplements.
Meal timing.
Fasted cardio.
Fat burners.
Special diets.
The problem?
Many of those things make little to no difference if the things that ACTUALLY drive fat loss aren't handled first.
It's kind of like worrying about the tread on your tires when your car wonโt start.
In my newest video, I break down the only things required for sustainable fat loss, keeping the weight off, and avoiding plateaus.
If you've ever lost weight and gained it back, this is probably one of the most important videos I've made.

Most people don't have a weight loss problem.
They have a weight regain problem.
Temporary extremes create temporary outcomes.
Healthy people build habits they can actually live with for years, not weeks.
One of the biggest mistakes people make during stressful seasons is putting their health on hold until life calms down.
The problem is that life doesn't always calm down when we want it to.
I've watched people stop working out because work got crazy.
Because finances got stressful.
Because the kids were too involved in sports.
Because life felt overwhelming.
But those are often the moments when exercise becomes even more important.
Not because you're trying to burn a few extra calories.
Because you're trying to navigate a difficult season with a clear head, steady emotions, and better decision-making.
The longer stress sticks around without an outlet, the more likely it is to show up as weight gain, poor sleep, low energy, nagging back and hip pain, a weakened immune system, and eventually the health issues that so many people chalk up to "just getting older."
Avoiding exercise when you're stressed really is like avoiding sleep when you're tired. That's how beneficial exercise is for your health and stress management.
If you're walking through a stressful season right now, I'd encourage you not to let go of working out.
Even if you have to scale things back.
Even if your workouts aren't perfect.
Keep moving.
You'll be a whole lot less likely to make decisions from anxiety, fear, and scarcity and a whole lot more likely to make them with a clear head.
The scale by itself is one of the fastest ways to start making emotional decisions during fat loss.
Your weight can fluctuate from sodium, stress, hormones, digestion, lack of sleep, inflammation, and a million other things that have nothing to do with actual body fat.
Thatโs why relying on weight alone causes so many people to panic and jump ship from plans that were probably working just fine.
Photos.
Measurements.
Body fat.
Strength.
How your clothes fit.
THAT is the stuff that tells the full story.
Iโve seen people lose inches off their waist while the scale barely moved.
And Iโve seen people obsess over a tiny scale drop while losing muscle and feeling awful.
Weight is only one piece of the puzzle. Not the whole picture.
Real transformation happens when you stop the scale obsession.
Focus on healthy body fat, better sleep, confidence, and stewarding your body biblically.
True health looks good and feels good, no matter the number on the scale.
When you're at a healthy body fat percentage, you'll be at the right weight for your body.

The scale is lying to you and you don't even know it.
Most people say they want to lose weight. What they actually mean is they're carrying too much extra fat and they want to feel better, look better, and have more confidence in their own skin.
Those are two very different things. And chasing the wrong one is why so many people lose weight and still feel like nothing changed.
Stop chasing the scale. Start tracking what actually matters and you'll stop jumping ship from program to program when what you're doing is actually working.
