With 50+ competitions under his belt, Tony has proven himself on the invitational circuit across New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. His resume includes wins at World Championship Grappling, Art of Combat, Top Level Pro Grappling, Rolling Stonerz Invitational, plus experience in Combat Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.

This is just the beginning. We’ve got 10 submission-only super fights lined up, and we’ll be announcing the rest of the card over the coming weeks.

🥋 Kids Fundamentals (NEW) – Mon/Wed at 4:45 PM
🤼 No-Gi Wrestling – Moved to Thu at 5:45 PM
🥋 Adult Fundamentals – Thursday is now 5:00 PM
🥊 MMA Striking – Fri at 5:45 PM
🥊 MMA Sparring (NEW) – Fri at 6:45 PM (Required: headgear, groin protection, mouthguard. We stock headgear at the gym)
🏆 Kids Competition Workshop – Fri at 5:00 PM (This was not added to the schedule, but runs through Grappling Industries Syracuse)
💪 Adult Competition Workshop – Wed at 7:30 PM (This was not added to the schedule. This is dedicated time to dial in your game)

Note: Adult Advanced Class on Thursday has been removed to make room for Wrestling.

Congratulations to our July Adult Student of the Month, Zack Salvador!

Zack is a true student of the game. When he’s not on the mats drilling, he’s studying high-level jiu-jitsu and constantly looking for ways to improve. What I appreciate most, though, is that he never loses sight of the fundamentals or our curriculum. He understands that mastering the basics is what allows the advanced techniques to work.

He’s also someone I trust to help new students, answer questions, and pass our curriculum on to others the right way. That kind of leadership doesn’t go unnoticed.

Congratulations, Zack. Thank you for everything you do for the team. You’re a pillar of OJJ, and we’re lucky to have you on the mats with us.

Hopefully this finds a permanent home on the fridge. That’s where all the important awards go 🤣

Unlike a traditional tournament, our round robin format gives kids the opportunity to compete in multiple matches, gain valuable mat experience, and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Athletes will be matched with opponents of similar age, weight, and experience level whenever possible to create a safe, competitive, and positive experience.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Oswego Jiu Jitsu proudly presents the inaugural OJJ Invitational at Curtis Manor in Oswego, NY.

For the first time, athletes from across the Northeast will travel to Oswego to compete in an evening of submission-only, no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu super fights.

We’ll begin announcing competitors and matchups as they’re finalized in the weeks leading up to the event. Earlier that day, we’ll also host our Kids Round Robin Tournament, giving young athletes a fun, low-pressure opportunity to gain valuable competition experience.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening, and free on-site parking is available.
