I had an excellent experience hosting a golf clinic for the UCLA Bruins Professionals Group ⛳️

For those who may not know, Coach Kathy was an incredibly well-known and respected golf instructor at Brookside. She exemplified an unmatched work ethic and professionalism—setting a standard that all instructors should strive to follow.

We worked alongside each other for over 10 years—as part of the John Wells Golf Shop, as First Tee coaches, and as private instructors. I truly miss her charismatic, high-energy presence at Brookside. She had a way of lifting everyone around her and constantly inspired me to bring that same energy to the course.

Kathy, thank you for your friendship and for being such an incredible mentor during our time together. I’ve done my best to carry on the lessons and wisdom you shared with me, though I know I still have a long way to go.

Wishing you and your family nothing but happiness and good health. You will always be in my prayers.

God bless you, Kathy.

Training mode vs Performance mode

Most golfers blur it without realizing.

On the range, your job is to analyze, adjust, and build.
On the course, your job is to commit, react, and accept.

When you carry swing thoughts to the first tee, you’re essentially telling your brain:

“We’re still practicing.”

And the brain responds by tightening up, over-controlling, and chasing perfection—none of which hold up under pressure.

That’s why mid-round “fixes” almost always backfire. You’re interrupting flow and replacing trust with mechanics.

A cleaner way to think about it:

Range = mechanics + analyze + intention
Course = motion + trust + intention

Or even simpler:

Train it. Then play with it.

If something feels off during a round, the better move isn’t to fix—it’s to simplify:
Pick a target, feel one cue (tempo, rhythm, or shape), and swing.

The best players aren’t thinking more—they’re thinking less, but clearer.

We play golf like we’re still on the range.

And that’s why the ones who separate themselves…learn how to leave the range behind before they ever hit the first shot.

Happy Anniversary!!

Time may fly, but every memory we’ve made together stays close to my heart.

Here’s to all the years behind us—and many more ahead. 🙏🩵

"Success in this game depends less on strength of body than strength of mind and character."
– Arnold Palmer

Golf is a game of millimeters…and moments.

One moment you feel invincible, like Tiger Woods in his prime…

Next moment, you can’t hit a ball if your life depended on it.

And that’s the part of the game nobody talks about.

Because golf isn’t just a swing game…it’s a thinking game.

A patience game.

A “how do you respond when everything is going wrong”kind of game.

Everyone hits bad shots. That’s inevitable.
But what happens next…that’s where real players are made.

Do you spiral?
Or do you reset…breathe…and step into the next like nothing happened?

Strange, right?
You’re not playing the course…you’re playing yourself.

Learning to remain calm when your hands want to rush…
Trusting your swing when doubt creeps in…
Letting go of the last poor shot so it doesn’t ruin the next one…

That’s golf…no perfect swings nor perfect rounds.

Just small moments of control…in a game that’s designed to take it away from you.
If you ever get that part right…everything else starts to follow.

“Great job, girls! 👍
Loved seeing the making of the ‘Spaghetti’ video shoot (LE SSERAFIM)—such a fun glimpse behind the scenes. Can’t wait to see the final version!”
(even though we didn’t get home until 1am🙄😅)

“Every day that I missed practicing takes me one day longer to be good.”
— Ben Hogan

Practice doesn’t make Perfect…
Perfection doesn’t Exist.

Practice → Progress → Confidence → Performance → Repeat

• “Practice makes progress” keeps expectations grounded. It removes frustration when things aren’t perfect right away.
• Progress builds confidence because you can see and feel improvement—even in small wins.
• Confidence enhances performance—this is huge in golf (and anything mental). Belief changes decision-making, commitment, and ex*****on.
• Then performance feeds back into more meaningful practice.

It’s basically a self-reinforcing loop, not a one-time effort.

Practice Creates Progress.
Progress Builds Confidence.
Confidence Elevates Performance.
Then you do it again.

Practice → Progress → Confidence → Performance → Repeat.

This is the kind of mindset that actually lowers scores—not perfect swings 👍⛳️
