I actually donāt think weāre lacking opportunities to meet new people.
I think weāre lacking spaces where people can slow down long enough to actually know each other.
Thatās why I felt called to bring back The Table Connection Calls this summer.
Each month, people have been logging in from all over the country (most of them complete strangers from each other) and for an hour we have conversations that donāt usually happen anywhere else.
We laugh.
We ask the hard questions.
We create new opportunities.
We donāt hold back.
And we remember that behind every business is a human being trying to build a life theyāre proud of.
Itās become one of my favorite hours of the month.

The older I get, the more I realize that urgency has a way of masquerading as importance.
For a long time, I thought if I could just stay caught upā¦answer the emails, clear the to-do list, solve the next problemā¦that eventually Iād arrive at this magical place where Iād finally have the space to think bigger.
Exceptā¦spoiler alertā¦that day never came.
There was ALWAYS another fire.
Another thing asking for my attention.
So lately, Iāve been asking myself a different question:
What future am I delaying because Iām so busy responding to the present?
OOF. I know what youāre thinking. It hit me right in the gut too.
But Iāve been thinking about it for a few months now and hereās what Iām realizing. The future isnāt something we stumble into one day when life finally slows down. Itās built in the small moments when we choose to protect our attention instead of giving it away to whatever is loudest.
Maybe thatās why this quote hit me so hard.
You canāt hear whatās possible when all you can hear is whatās urgent.
