āSometimes selflessness is just self-abandonment with a better name.ā š®āšØš«£š«
said this in our live studio conversation and I felt it somewhere I wasnāt expecting.
I have absolutely called it servant leadership when really I was just quietly disappearing from myself.
You say yes when you mean no.
You shrink so other people feel comfortable.
You pour into everyone around you and wonder why you feel empty.
You call it being a good person.
You call it showing up.
You call it leadership.
Somewhere in there we just quietly stop showing up for ourselvesā¦and I donāt think we talk about that part nearly enough.
The relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for every single one you haveā¦how are you treating it?
Parts 1 and 2 of this 3 part studio session with are live and part 3 drops this Thursday. Drop PODCAST48 for part 1 or PODCAST49 if youāre ready for part 2 in the comments below to give it a listen!

I saw a reel the other day where a woman referred to herself as the familyās āDirector of Everything.ā
And tbh, iāve never felt more seen. š
Because as womenā¦at one point or another, many of us became the keeper of the calendar, the meal planner, the memory holder, the scheduler, the finder of lost things, the logistics coordinator, and the person everyone turns to when they need an answer.
Not because we do everything on our own, but because we often carry a lot of the invisible mental load that keeps daily life moving.
Itās no wonder weāre tired. š¤Ŗš« š“
So letās have some fun with thisā¦finish this sentence in the comments below:
For one weekend, Iād like to be relieved of my duties as __________.
Iāll go first:
Investigative Officer of āthe one shoe thatās missingā when weāre in a rush to get out the door š¤Ŗ
Your turn. š
There are few things in life I wanted to do less than collect my own p**p and mail it across the country š¤Ŗ
Which is exactly why this test kit sat on my counter for almost 3 months š¤¢š
Every time I looked at it, I found a reason to do it tomorrow.
Tomorrow turned into next week. Next week turned into next month. And finally I had an ah-ha moment that this wasnāt actually about the test. It was about ME. š«£
Because if Iām willing to invest time, money, and energy into building businesses...
āØIf Iām willing to show up for my husband, my kids, my clients, my community...
WHY is it sometimes so easy to put my own health at the bottom of the list?
The reality is that the people we love get the best version of us when we take care of ourselves first. Not because itās selfish, because itās responsible.
Youāve heard a million times you canāt pour from an empty cup.āØYou also canāt ignore every signal your body is sending and expect it to keep carrying you forever.
So today, after an embarrassing amount of procrastination, the test is officially headed to the lab and into the hands of the .personal team to see where we go from here. āļø
Now, we wait for answers and Iāll be bringing you along for the ride. Just not for the collection part. Some journeys are meant to stay private. š

This one hit me right between the eyes. If Iām being honest, many of my prayers have come with a blueprint.
God, hereās what I want.
Hereās when Iād like it.
Hereās how Iād like you to deliver it.
Thanks so much.
And yet some of the biggest blessings in my life arrived looking nothing like what I asked for.
Jobs ending.
Relationships changing.
Doors closing.
Plans unraveling.
At the time, it felt like loss. Looking back, it was protection.
Sometimes the answer isnāt no.
Itās just not in the packaging you expected.
How has this showed up in your life? Let me know in the comments below. Drop the word PODCAST48 to grab the direct link to part 1 of this 3 part live episode with my friend šš»

I found this photo today.
It was taken shortly after I lost my corporate job during Covid.
At the time, it felt like my entire world had been flipped upside down.
What makes me laugh now is that the woman in this photo was convinced she was experiencing the worst thing that had ever happened to her professionally. Meanwhile, God was up there like, āMaāam, respectfully, weāre just getting started.ā š¤Ŗ
She thought her story was ending.
That those 20 years were somehow wasted.
That she was being forced to let go of something she loved.
What she couldnāt see at the time was that she had spent so much of her life building someone elseās vision that she had never stopped to ask what she was capable of building for herself.
If I could sit down with her today, Iād tell her to stop panicking.
The career wasnāt a mistake. The leadership experience wasnāt wasted. None of it was for nothing.
Every difficult boss, every promotion she had to fight for, every room where she had to prove herself, every lesson in people, operations, marketing, leadership, and resilience was preparing her for something she couldnāt see...YET.
Iād tell her that one day sheāll build the room she spent years searching for. That sheāll get to help other people feel seen.
That the things she values most will finally stop competing with her work instead become the very ethos that everything she builds is rooted in.
If I could go back and talk to her for five minutes, I wouldnāt give her advice. Iād just tell her to keep walking. The life sheās praying for already exists - she just hasnāt met it yet.
I donāt bring just anyone to this table.
When I relaunched The Table podcast back in March after about a year hiatus, I spent the first 90 days exclusively recording solo episodes, intentionally. Whoever sat in this first guest episode seat had to be deeply aligned to me personally the future of everything I am building.
has been in my corner for a while now ā as a friend, a thought partner, and one of the most grounding voices I know.
Heās a 3x founder, top 0.5% podcaster, and creator of The Niche Is YouĀ® with a community of 300k+ and 1B+ impressions. He's partnered with incredible brands like Louis Vuitton and MoĆ«t Hennessy, but I trust him because of how he thinks, not the numbers.
Matt and I recorded this 3 part episode one with a live studio audience here in Phoenix at and we talked about the one relationship most of us are quietly neglecting ā the one with ourselves. We unpacked the concept of self trust and why it changes everything.
Today we dropped Part 1 of this 3 part episode and it is exactly the kind of conversations I am building toward.
